Anyone else looking at the figures in the comic Packs and thinking they rushed em? detail and paint jobs are garbage.
I found the SE vs SS in Target and they looked so rushed. Very few details in the guys and the Duke one just looked cheap. Man, I have everything 25th ann up until these. I will still most likely buy them but I'm a little let down. =COBRACOFFEE |

As with any mass market figure these days, the quality is all over the map. I agree that certain packs- if you only have very limited samples to use as examples- can be of poorer quality, but sometimes holding out for a really good one makes all the difference. Moreover; I've been known to purchase a lesser quality figure/s initially just to satisfy the Jones of having the figure, only to repurchase it later when I find a better one. I mean, at $5-10 a pop, c'mon, you can't really go wrong there. Some figures are twice that and not even as good a quality as the lesser quality Joes!

I'm willing to bet that they were rushed. As were many of the 25th figures, but only due to the amazing success of the line. That is why there are so many repaints. There was demand for more figures and Hasbro put together some quick turn around stuff.
And considering this was supposed to be sort of a short run type of line as opposed to a long term direction of the line, I can see why the same molds are being utilized on multiple figures (ala the first line) Having actually worked in the injection molding industry for 5 years, I can tell you that the process for creating the tooling and doing testing prior to a full scale run is way more difficult that it is made out to be. (and let's not forget very expensive) I'm willing to bet that when the first wave went out and it flew off of the shelves time and time again, Hasbro was scrambling for emergency product. So they were probably screwed either way. Either sit back and say, 'please be patient for our product' (while we would be screaming about not having any) or cobble together some figures with what they had in hand for mutliple releases. (and have us screaming about being sick of repaints and paint apps) Not trying to be an apologist for Hasbro, just trying to call it as I see it. Being a long time collector of other lines, as well as having knowledge of the manufacturing process. Sorry for the long winded response. Jeff |

I looked at Duke/CC pack and almost blinded myself. "Bright Light! Bright Light!" My inner Gremlin almost came out.

The plastic feels softer to me... in fact when I opened up the Dreadnoks, Ripper's hand actually fell off the peg! Ha!

Jeff thank you for this enlightening and educational point of view... they can't win, they rush stuff and we still complain (Compulsive, you are always right)... i guess the least they could do is get the product to the customer |

I've only got one comic pack so far (Scarlett/Hawk, natch) and am thrilled with the quality. Hawk is sharp, and I liked the Scarlett comic head enough to swap it with my 5-pack Scarlett.

Please tell me you're kidding. The Duke is new Neon in the Duke/CC pack. and the Snake Eyes in the SE/SS pack has his goggles painted by what looks like a drunken 3 year old. The silver was all over his head and not where it should have been. Look, I think the comic packs are cool, but it's true...We are a Update every hour society now! now! now! now! That's why GI JOE toys can't be like it used to be ( 1 wave a year almost). So we suffer because they wanna pump it out. $$$$$$$$$ I think the Hawk figure is really the only one that I want to spend the 10 bucks on but that may be because there was no other Hawk to compare it with. Look at the first wave of the 25th guys... They are awesome! Tell me when you saw the detail on the first Snake eyes or the Cobra trooper you wernt like "WOW~!" But as these come out it seems they are falling back into the whole quantity over quality. Think about the Destro from the convention. It was made so fast and so stupid looking originally(1990s?) that it became a laughing stock. Then because of it's fame of being so odd (pimpdaddy-ish) they remade it for the fans. The new one made for the fans is quality! And even though it's still the same idea, because they took time on it, people really responded to it! All I ask is (and it doesnt matter because HASBRO make 900,000 toys a second) All I want is a little quality that I can set on my desk and look at and remember how cool GI JOE and COBRA was. =COBRACOFFEE |

I haven't seen them in person and won't buy them if I do, because I don't want more copies of those particular figs.
