Anyone know if hasbro has changed stuff from the con diplay cases that was shown carded?
Not what was posed loose, not talking about accessories being taken out like the shield of ren trooper (I was really bummed he didn't get that shield) Or changes of color like poc alley (I was glad they changed to black from grey). I'm asking if hasbro has shown a carded fig in the con case and then changed it for retail. I'm asking if what is shown in the packaging will be what hits retail or online. |

Typically, the packaged samples we see at cons are production samples the team is sent from China, and in 99.9999999% of cases is reflective of the final retail product
About the only time things don't remain is when some sort of running change is made (and you'll still see the shown version at retail)

There's actually a lot of this going on with Retaliation, mostly because of the delay.
Wave 2 Roadblock got white paint added to his vest for some reason. Prototype pics of the Crimson Guard show him with a differently-sculpted vest. There have also been two variants shown; one with the mask painted silver and the other painted black. I still don't know which one they're going to release it as. The retail release Jinx (not either of the SDCC toys) had a less movie accurate deco upon its original showings which is still on the packaging pics, but Toyfair this year showed a more accurate deco with yellow upper legs. It looks a lot better. Cyber Ninja Viper originally had Wraith's head in addition to Crimson Horseman's. Dark Ninja originally came with the alternate Renegades Storm Shadow head (with the hair peeking out of the mask) but the release version doesn't have it. Alley Viper didn't come with webgear at first, but eventually got POC Jungle Duke's (or 30th Stalker's, or Retaliation Wave 2 Flint's.) That's all I can think of right now, but there might be more. |

And again, none were ever shown on package with those differences. Quote:

No, it wasn't. The alternate head shown was the "Tornado Kick" Storm Shadow (from PoC wave 3).

The problem is that we haven't seen "new Wave 3" on package, so figures like Ultimate 85 Snake Eyes, Ultimate Roadblock or Ultimate Classic Cobra Commander could all easily loose or gain accessories by the time they hit retail (or to be more accurate, gain/loose them a few months back when they hit production).
Also take note that most of the Wave 3 figures have accessories that would take the place of some of the big zip-lines or rocket launcher things, which are unlikely to be removed. Hasbro has had a year of the price point being $10 to figure out how to better utilize that price point, just like they did with Transformers--newer TF figures are coming with entirely new weapons 'on top' of what they had before, so obviously the increase in price is actually giving Hasbro more budget to work with. |

The packaging itself for the Dark Ninja shows it with the alternate head though.

I just noticed while flipping through pics that sometime between Toy Fair and JoeCon they switched the legs on Ultimate Flint. Originally he had more unique knees and shins, but now his legs are just a reuse of the Retaliation Trooper/Mouse.

Did anyone else notice that unfortunately Hasbro changed the color of the Cobra combat Ninja webgear from the movie accurate black to light blue/white. Since we've yet to see a carded pic of the fig I'm hoping this isn't the case but in the last two showings of the loose prototype it's been this way. I can only wonder why???
