Assuming we get pre-cut filecards that is another bonus. Besides, if these were cases of 8 singles, odds are Hasbro would've put in two Mindbenders to finish filling a case. I'm not too fond having extra Mindbenders as it is.

How do you know this? From a production standpoint alone the single carded figures cost a lot more to produce. As far as distribution goes making them internet exclusives saves tons of money in retailer licenses and moving the product. I can't stand when people seem to think they know more about retail strategy than Hasbro. There's a reason why Hasbro remains the number 1 marketer of toys, because they how it's done.

I can't stand when people seem to think they know more about retail strategy than Hasbro. There's a reason why Hasbro remains the number 1 marketer of toys, because they how it's done. If you actually read my whole post, you'd realize we basically said the thing. I said there's a reason why Hasbro is releasing 'em as 7-packs instead of single cards. Even with more cost of production and all that, I still think they would have made ALOT more money selling 'em all as single cards. Doing internet only also lowers the marketplace that will buy 'em (I'm pretty confident in saying that the 7-pack environment sets were primarily bought by Collector's only). There's a large segment of Joe-buyers that won't buy online. I don't know if it's as high as 2 out of 5, or maybe 1 out of 5 (the 1 being the one that won't go online). The troop builders alone would have made them a ton in single cards. But for whatever reason, which only Hasbro knows, none of us do (for sure), they decided to release 'em in 7-packs. Which I'm thankful for. After the movie, I can see them releasing these as single-cards. In a way, that would be a good thing because it would keep the line going for even longer. A wave is 6-8 figures. Each wave, they release 2 of the 14 7-pack figures as single cards. After the movie (this is just random numbers), say they have 7 waves planned, that's 42 to 56 figures, say over the next 2 years (sounds reasonable, that's about what we got from 2007 to 2008). So now they start putting in 2 of the 14 7-pack figures each wave. That's 14 figures from the planned 7 waves that can be pushed out to 2 other new waves. So now there's 9 waves total. So now Hasbro is getting an additional 2 more waves to hit the shelves without having to develop molds. Not bad.

If I can get 14 sought-after figures in one shot rather than having to drive around and track them down one at a time, color me a happy collector. Sometimes the complaints around here amaze me.

Thi biggest grip isnt that we're gtting these...it the WAY we're geting em. I do seem to remember these figures minus ripcord..saying that they were gonna be released on single cards and in cp's and the last wave of vehicles. Now heres the only problem i forsee when these do come out as non exclusives...they won't be properly colored. We've all seen it before. I dont know about anyone else but i want HNR as he looks on the 7 pack...not the international TF version or recondo in his TF outfit or the yellow n black alley viper. I woulddn't mind those AFTER the regular colored figures but Lets get the regular versions in stores first. Doin' this sorta thing is just a slap in the face to us all.

+1 to Hasbro for releasing figures we have been hoping for. And them being a 7-pack is saving us money unless they decide to go Wal Mart on us. Bottom line.. if your gonna gripe about them not being single carded.. THEN DON'T BUY THEM!!! Hell, the rest of us will and probably open them like Christmas Day!!

I just don't think its fair for them to say oh we're gtting more waves of figures then they turn around and say "oh guess what ha ha you're not. We're gonna make 'em a scalpers soggy dream by makin 'em exclsuives and just throw out useless revision cases 'till the movie line hits. ha ha entire collecting community. "
I feel that if they said they were gonna be released as non exclusives before the movie...which they did i do remember that announcment being made here or revealed or whatever, then they should do that cause i know i aiont the only one pissed about this lil switcharoo.

retailers don't pay licensing fees unless they are the actual licensee of a product and are manufacturing them.

But single figures released to retail that's where the scalpers had a field day. $19.99 for an Eel, $14.99 for a BAT, $15.00 for a Cobra Trooper. Then you have to buy an outlandish ebay style shipping fee on top of it. Normally between $5 and $9. The Cobra set sans Dr. Mindbender are all troop builders. We'd see the same thing for those figures. 15 for a Range Viper, $18 for an Alley Viper and so on. I'd go absolutely broke army building if these were released single carded because I know I would never find them at retail.
