It's not a rip off if you're willing to pay for it. ;) As far as Wave 2, 2008 (or whatever we're officially calling it) is concerned, I 'think' it will hit after we've seen carded pics from places like Toynewsi, or even from collectors in the Phillipines and China. After all, if the overseas collectors haven't seen them first, the chances that we'll see them before they do are slim to none. That being said, I have a feeling these will drop in the US probably in late Jan., early Feb. As was said by someone else, this is merely a guess on my part and based on nothing more than deductive reasoning, so take it for what it's worth. |

And seeing as how the shelves aren't flowing with them yet, I can see why people are willing to pay for them. If I didn't have a preorder in at BBTS I'd probably be the one paying $75 for Wave 5.
I thought about cancelling my preorder and taking my chances at finding the 3 new figs in Wave 6 somewhere else. I've got a sealed Joe boxset, an open one, a preorder on Wave 5 that includes a carded SE and then the same one in Wave 6. I wish retail stores could order specific waves. Then, I'd get in their system and order Wave 5 x10. Nothing like seeing 20 CG's hanging on the pegs. Hopefully after Walmart does there inventory, they'll blow through these Wave 3 revisions and hit it hard with 4,5 or even 6. |

People are sure impatient arent they ciad. I mean i fell into that a few months back when i paid 20$ for an officer then in about a week and a half found two at wal mart for 4.88. Sometimes productive collecting requires the wait and see approach, not the jump at the first auction on ebay and pay whatever it takes approach. But i do have to say the new comic two packs on ebay are starting at almost 3 times the retail price in a lot of cases. Especially the torch and ripper packs.

Sty, S&P, I couldn't agree more. People are going to feel silly once the market is saturated with these, and hell yes, people are impatient. It's all about "having it first". I'm not looking down on anyone, as I'm guilty of it too.
This scenario just played itself out with wave 2/3. That being said, it didn't hit eBay (price wise) as hard as wave 4/5 have, which is why IMO you see a lot of guys who have wave 5 for sale also have waves 2 and 3 for average retail price. |

I learned my lesson with this line early on. I picked up all of wave 1 very early. Wave 2 I picked up lady jaye and buzzer on a friday, no sign of the rest of wave 2 for the next week. The next thing I find is a whole case of wave 3 at a target! So I start panicking thinking, OMG wave 2 is being blown through so fast that I'll never get a beachhead!! So I go to ebay and pay $12 BIN + $3 shipping for a diaper crotch beachhead.
2 days later, I go to wal-mart and find 2 cases of wave 2. Lesson learned. |

That alone is more than worth the small cost of an extra $5 per figure. I don't shop at Wal-Mart for anything other than action figures, so I have to make special trips and waste gas and time to look for them. So no, I won't feel chastened, appropriately or otherwise. If wave 5 happens to be in front of me at retail, I'll just pick up more Crimson Guards.
