Just saw pics of him and I'm in love with the character all over again. I was affraid that they were going to drop the ball on him, but I was totally wrong. All of the small details are there - well minus the helmet (but I'm sure it'll be included). Even if he doesn't come with his classic gear, I have extras so he's covered.
He just looks so damned beautiful! Scratch one figure from my customs list. Thank you Hasbro... |

Yeah, too bad I'll probably only be able to snag ONE of them. :(
I'd think it would be in Hasbro's best interest to eventually release Alley Viper on a single card. They'd definitely sell. |

I just hope its a one piece helmet, if its 2 it will become bulky and ugly.

I'll be trying to score two Cobra 7 packs for all the vipers, but initially I thought this figure would suck and I'd trade/sell them off. Now, I'm keeping them...all of them sans one Mindbender as all I'll need is one of them.

They'd sell about as well as BAT's, Eels, etc. The problem is, you'd likely see them in one wave (like the Eel) at a retail store sometime in 2010 and then never see them at a retail store again. That means most folks will have to order the single carded figures online at prices comparable to what some sites are charging for an Eel today. $15-$20 each anyone? If the 7 packs sell for $40 each then you'd be much better off just buying a bunch of them and trading/selling off any figures you don't want. These sets are pure win though. The figures are all great with the only exception being the battle damaged BAT. That one has me going meh but is certainly not enough to dissuade me from buying multiple sets of these. |

What I would love to see is an Alley Viper painted like the prototype one that was originally shown with the 1997 Rage that was the V1 Alley Viper painted in dark blue.
