I used to think there was a Python Patrol version from Brazil, but it was only the colors that looked similar. They did have a Python Patrol Swampfire though.
Here's the Brazillian Water Maccasin though. YOJOE.COM | Hidrolice De Emboscada (Brazil) and the Brazilian Python Swampfire YOJOE.COM | Naja Hidro-Helicoptero

but at that point of the line Hasbro probably didn't intend on releasing a Water Moccassin, so it was either a regular Copperhead in the comic pack or not at all. and if they had only ended up releasing one Copperhead through the comic pack because they never made a Water Moccasin, more people would be complaining that Hasbro made a Python Patrol Copperhead and should have released a regular version in the comic pack.
Anyway, enough of this conversation. To get back to the OP's question. I am hoping they release the PP trooper very soon but I am not holding my breath for any new, previously unannounced classic figures until this movie line runs its course. Last edited by jaxscorpio; 02-13-2009 at 05:21 PM.. |

I've always used the Python Trooper as the officer and the Python Officer as the trooper. Don't know why Hasbro originally swapped those two.

You have a point but that assumes that Hasbro operated the 25th/Modern Era line with no long term thinking or planning and that every wave was conceived of on the fly with no thought given to what they'd release next. I remember reading somewhere that they had to create the Water Moccasin mold from scratch. I'm pretty sure that mold cost a lot of money so I am equally sure there was at least some discussion about which vehicles they'd be making as part of this line long before the Water Mocassin mold was made. Frankly though, we have no idea exactly when they ordered the mold for the new WM so, unless Hasbro comes out and tells us, I don't think either of us can say with absolute certainty that they did or didn't have plans to produce a WM when the CH/SW comic pack was manufactured.

I wish they'd do it to get it out of their system, and do it in a multi-pack, and stop wasting single-carded slots for them.
For nothing more than an ugly repaint, I'd rather get 1 less figure per single-card wave than get anymore TF or PP figures scattered in regular releases. As much as I hate these sub-lines, I think since they started them, they should finish them and do them right. Just finish them in sets and stop peppering them throughout. A TRU multi-pack seems like the right idea. Or a few more TF/PP Comic Packs. Just get them over with and then stop, please. |
