i only go to hunt for joes whenever i am out and about already. needless to say this means I never find anything worth a s*&t. im probably a minority on this one, but it makes me mad that i cant ever find anything because the hardcore collectors pillage the stores daily. it takes the fun out of the whole hobby for me and is just getting to the point im about to stop collecting all together.

You gotta chill man you'll get em eventually usually at the specialty shops.
Or target if someone hid them early on or if some one bent the cards. |

Only one way to fix the problem, you can get up earlier to beat them. Or better yet, just order a few figures at time from an online retailer. Check out the theouterrimcollectibles (a fellow Tanker mind you) their prices are very low/reasonable with no hunts or disappointment.
Problem solved. |

I can only imagine the pain trying to fight with other collectors. I am fortunate to live in an area that does not have too many and if the stores actually get something in I can usually find them a week or two later still. Hell, the Target in my area (which is 25 miles away over a mountain pass) had some 25th logo figures they must have had in the back and they are still sitting a month later with dust on them. I bought a few just because they had the embossed logo. Don't stop now. The best part is if you deal with the right people on here you can usually find what you want. It takes the fun out of the hunt but you still get what you are looking for. Don't be a quitter unless you can't afford it of course.

no i mean, ive ordered online and stuff, its great you get your stuff at the door, but its a little crazy that you have to stalk the stores at the opening or late at night to try to get even the no so rare ones anymore. maybe its just here in phoenix but i never see anything. i dont have the time, or energy to travel the whole valley in search of a figure or two. its gotta be the most frustrating hobby ever
major blood- that might be another reason why im gonna quit for awhile, i got laid off. and i have to do 80 hours of community service right now too. but the ran sacked pegs doesnt really cheer me up either |

Yeah man, hang with it. If you are casual and only want a few here and there, trade here or order online. I agree that finding them in the stores is the fun part, and I admit to looking almost daily, but I have never picked up an arm- or cart full if/when I find anything. Most I have ever bought at one time was 4 cp's. And once 5 figs of a revision wave. But stick with it and you usually find what you need. I have.

I only hunt when I am there for something else too. I haven't had too bad of luck tho.

I'm a casual collector myself. i just got a few childhood favs (Stalker, Snake Eyes, Roadblock), and a bunch of cobra guys (Destro, CC, Major Bludd, Firefly and 3 cobra troopers) Most of them I got from the DVD box sets. My biggest gripe is finding decent cobra standard troops. I just want roughly 3 more. And a Doc would've been nice but I got back into the game too late and missed the mail-away.

I use to hunt hardcore morning and late nights. But I slowed my addiction down drastically to just once in awhile. I'll only browse the toy section if I'm out buying other stuff.
Don't give up man, You find what you're looking for sooner or later. Sure you might not get them 1st but they all eventually become peg warmers. I've been pretty lucky that i'm caught up with all the figures except for the cobra diver and ninja viper, but i'm in no rush to find them. They'll be peg warmers before you know it ;) |
