i think any one who talks shit about the 12inch is a moron thats right a MOR-ON! do they even REALIZE that kids in the 60's who played with the movable fighting man GIJOE kids who played with them had fathers who fought in world war 2? or maybe was in the military-- and that since they were the biggest heroes playing with GIJOE was like experiancing what they're dad must've done ?
i mean 3inch figures are fine, but you cannot ignore that GIJOE was an action figure the first figure that stood tall--anyone who called it a doll is like an insult. seriously talking shit about the 12inch figure is like--commie talk. and thats what it is. commie/terrorist talk. i got into the 12inch modern figures before the 3inch. bit like somone said-- each generation has theyre own GIJOE but even so, you must respect where Joe came from. even the GIJOE comics has respects for the 12inch---JOE COLTON anyone? yeah. 12inch figures will always be the god father of the GIJOE brand.

Yes we would. The larger figures suck ass! The new movie is based nothing on the old (Barbie) joes. Transformers is pretty popular and we never had 1960's 30 inch versions of those! They changed the entire line because the 12 inch was not that popular. Yah it is history but it is a crappy old dusty stinky history that most of us don't care about.
12" Joes were insanely popular and the first damn action figures ever. They stopped selling well after oil prices got out of hand due to the OPEC oil embargo of the 70s. They tried reducing the size and articulation, but quality suffered and it ended after a run that lasted about as long as ARAH did. During the 90s, the reintroduction of 12" Joes sold like crazy. Crazy enough that they were made for several years after the ARAH line ended. There's a reason there were so many 12" military imitators trying to cash in. Hasbro would not have made small joes if not for the fact that they wanted to invigorate their household name of a brand. The size itself was taken from Star Wars. Finally, Transformers did have a 60s ancestor. It's called G.I.Joe. The microman lines that the original transformers were part of were an evolution of the 12" G.I.Joe line that was licensed to Takara to sell in Japan. So, I'm agreeing with the thread poster here and not all of the shitty attitudes being thrown in his face after he was being positive and trying to share some fun videos. Regardless of how horrid the movie stuff turns out, it has always been about evolution, as well as profit of course. |

12" is cool, I just don't collect them since I never played with any action figure over 6". Even with the awesome sideshows figures, I can't get into them. When it comes down to it, I still prefer the 3.75" joes because of all the accessories set and vehicles that you can play with them.
