Ya know I hope the same thing happens to this movie as what happened to the hulk.
A bad movie sparks a new one to appear. |

that's because to them, the movie and everything not 12" isn't G.I. Joe either. it's ridiculous when they say it and it is ridiculous when we say it. I bet they point to the dwindling of sales for RAH in the 90's compared to the sales of 12" figures in their hey day as proof that RAH was a failure the same way the RAH purists point to everything not RAH as having been a failure in comparison.

I'm pretty excited about the movie. Definitely looking forward to it. But I'm not collecting the toys since I'm out of space in my apartment. Well maybe except for Baroness, Scarlett and Covergirl.

For as much bitching as I do you seriously have a point....... though most of my bitching has to do with revisions too.......

Regardless of how your trying to twist it. I agree change is nessecary and vital to G.I.Joe. If it's good. I'm a very visual person. Period. If it looks bad to me I therefore feel it is bad. However if I miss typed before and said opinion when I should have said it was a statement true to my experience. I have spent a lot of time and money on G.I.Joe. I also do a lot of tracking of these items and see a lot of patterns. The only reason I even posted is because I don't want a potential threat to the line longevity to arise. I also do feel the 12 inch figures currently are no longer relative. Unless they were to produce better sculpts for a general release. The Sideshow 12 inch are amazing why can't we see even half of that on the pegs. Once again just a statement from my experience talking to others and my humble opinion. Not Law. Not forcing you to believe me...Believe me...

I hate to be the bearer of more logic and reality, but G.I. Joe is whatever Hasbro (the owner of G.I. Joe) says it is. Not whatever a bunch of guys and even a few gals that somehow feel like they have partial ownership and should be called upon to make business decisions and given final approval for all creative aspects of the franchise because they've bought a bunch of toys say it is.
All we get to do is choose whether or not we (as individuals, not collectively) buy into whichever incarnation Hasbro is selling at the moment. Despite the sweeping assertations to the contrary, right it seems about 50/50 in terms of those that accept the upcoming/"current" incarnation and those that vehemently deny it. I'll only get worried if they put the 25th series on the backburner for the next year. Nothing the movie has to offer really gets me excited. It's like they just got really cranking on the 25th line and wham! brick wall city...At least I'll still get my stinger ;)

The possibility of a new, ongoing animated series that could debut in the wake of the movie ala "Transformers Animated." Not talking about Resolute, though it'd be cool if they expanded it to a full series (I just doubt they will), but rather an all new animated series. If they do that...we might get figures based on the new animated series before we see "classic" again...but we -will- see classic again...as long as retailers keep buying the Joe line. |

Well, there's something else to consider in all this that hasn't really come up much:
The possibility of a new, ongoing animated series that could debut in the wake of the movie ala "Transformers Animated." Not talking about Resolute, though it'd be cool if they expanded it to a full series (I just doubt they will), but rather an all new animated series. If they do that...we might get figures based on the new animated series before we see "classic" again...but we -will- see classic again...as long as retailers keep buying the Joe line. It's taking forever for my target to burn off it's casepacks. I counted 13 CC on 5 pegs today. (6 peg store) And a single mashed in vamp. We haven't gotten any armor in over 2 weeks. I'm looking for a sting raider like none other.....one of these days it will be mine....

And without out us buying why spend the money to design, prototype, build, cast, market, and sell. Especially in this crisis why continuie a line that isn't making them money? With out us why do any of it. There in this for the money...and the love. All in all I really can't believe the overwhelming response to a lone rant. When I wrote it I was just stating my lone opinion. I really didn't expect that it would get this much attention wether you agree or not. I know how things work and that I'm just one man. Hasbro doesn't care what I say or do. Fellow fans don't know me or generally care. I think I kind of died a little on the inside today.
