Hello all...just recently joined the collecting gig with Joes. Needed opinions regarding what you all would consider the best, standard cobra trooper figure (Resolute not counting). I thought at first I wanted the cartoon deco from the MASS Device pack, but his hands suck so bad. They can barely hold the cartoon gun! I also have the trooper from the first Cobra 5 pack (red sigil, black mask) I like him asthetic-wise, but is diaper crotch and crap posability kill it. Plus, I cant stand those sniper rifles. I mean, really? EVERY trooper can only snipe? The only other trooper I have is the same fig, but with silver sigil. I see that the upcoming final DVD pack with chrome-dome CC also has a trooper that has some moderate improvements. Then there's the Flint in Cobra disguise, which I considered getting as well..... I only want about 3 more figs. Can anyone share their opinions?

The scar face trooper from the comic pack is cool because it comes with an assault rifle which is more reasonable for battle. Cobra Flint is my favorite because of the short sleeves. The Flint head sucks so it makes a great heavy weapon trooper. I would honesty drop some loot with marauder gun runner and get some nice guns if you are setting them up. He is a cool cat and has an awesome product.

Best standard trooper? HoH Viper! Man, if you only get 3 more standard troops, these would be it!
Then you can have Roadblock mashing Viper heads like your avatar. |

Crimson Guard is good, but does he count as standard to you?

If money is not a problem and you only want three troopers, I would invest with the DVD trooper because of the large cobra logo. Then modify it with the cobra trooper silver logo single pack. Here are some photos of examples. Left figure is the modified one. The middle is the best of 80s with SE web gear, and the right is the original best of 80's figure

If I could only pick 3, I'd have to say 1st 5-pack, wave 2 (silver logo) and wave 1 Officer. They look great together, the 2 troopers have the extra silver bits painted, and they were the first 3 Cobras ever made excluding CC. The Bot80s Paratrooper looks great as a new recruit if you take off the chute and helmet.
