Hey all! Every month for a year now- I've been having my girlfriend Yuko look for 25th Anniversary Figures in Japan- she of course have had no such luck. :( So does any one know why Hasbro has not released anything in the far East?

Hasbro's Japanese partner Takara makes Microman. Which are 3 3/4" figures with about 30 points of articulation. I think it has the 3 3/4" market cornered in Japan. Takara probably doesn't want Joe's competing with its own line so Hasbro doesn't release them there. Also Joe may not be popular enough in Japan to merit a wide release there.

Japan knows of GI Joe because of their ARAH era releases. But I suspect the property is not popular enough or even appealing enough to market there right now.
No new animation untill Resolute, so there is no current media push, but when the Movie comes Japan will probably see GI Joe figures. I am sure some import stores must carry current Joe there right now as well, but it would just be the US releases in an import store & not a Japanese pressed release. |

came from Japan last Sept.( due to being military) For what I've seen I couldn't find anything out in town. I only found them(US version) on the US bases. I thought they would have had some takara vers. like the old days. I guess they're not that popular there.
