When I play with my son (age 4) I always try to play pretty realistically. This includes having people who are pilots fly the planes. My son sometimes wants to put non-pilots in the planes. It bothers me a little but it's just for fun so I let him put who he wants in there.
My 1st question is "for those who play with their toys", who fly’s your GI Joe jets, Sharks, Night Specters & Skyhawks? ? Do you put anyone and everyone in or do you try and only use pilots? My 2nd question is who in GI Joe can pilot jets? I use Ace, Slipstream and Pilot Scarlet. Who else can be used? Wild Bill and Lift Ticket? they are helicopter pilots, can they fly planes as well? What about Grandslame, Star Duster, or Air Born? They aren’t pilots......are they? Who else in the 25th line can fly planes? Last edited by Gatchaman; 02-28-2009 at 08:41 AM.. |

1) It's all about Slipstream, Duke, hell anyone
2) In the G.I. Joe movie everybody and their mother is flying some sort of vehicle. |

Wild Bill was a fixed-wing pilot often in the comics. I seem to recall Lift Ticket getting that duty once or twice as well. Grand Slam is a definite "who knows?" as he spent an awful lot of the time invisible. Airborne likely has chopper credentials, though don't quote me on that. Starduster, I have no freakin clue.

I'm pretty much like you Gatchaman,I try to stay realistic.
Ace and Slipstream are about the only ones that fly the Joe jets. What I can't quite decide on is who makes the most sense to pilot the Sharc... is it more of a jet or a submarine...? I usually just stick with Deep Six, hell he's the only one big enough to be in there without sliding everywhere. |

That’s why my son thinks just anyone can fly a plane. In the cartoon, well like you said everyone and their mother fly the jets. I want to use just real pilots in my Joe world. Of course that’s just me, I guess I’m just anal like that. |

Wow, that’s a big point I wanted to bring up and totally forgot to (that’s what happens when it’s 7:30 in the morning and I have been working all night. Brain turns to mush). I edited my 1st post to include those. So, who pilots the Sharks, Night Specters & Skyhawks? I usually try to use pilots for those as well (including helicopter pilots). Of course I use Deep Six in the Shark a lot. Realistically I’m sure if those aircraft’s really existed they would have to be flown by real pilots just like any other aircraft. So I try to do the same in my little Joe world. What I am finding is that there are more aircrafts then there are pilots. Or at least there will be soon. I like Slipstream and Ace from the VvV line, the flight suits are spot on and they look cool as hell.
