I would say 1983 because of the swivel arm, but I have to say 1982. Imagine walking into a toy store (that you drove 2 hours to get to) after you've had years of playing with boring star wars, battlestar, and now broken mego figures and seeing the beautiful cards lined up on pegs (luckily I had 2 weeks worth of allowance and borrowed the next week's), and you get to take home Snake Eyes, Stalker, flash, and Scarlett along with a 2 Cobra figs and a jump jet pack????? How cool is that?
That's why 1982.... |

I voted for the 25th Anniversary 2007 because you get the best of all worlds, but for nostalgia, 83 was the greatest, and I want a new APC.

I like 2007 the best, classic characters in the new mold. I also like 88 & 89, Python Patrol, all the sub-team Vipers from those years are great.

83 was probably the best year for me looking at the entirety of the line. This because the bulk of the most iconic vehicles ever are in this line. Looking at figures only, I have to give it to 85; with a strong second to 84. Both years saw the addition of some of the best characters and backstory; but 85 also saw a huge improvement in sculpt and articulation. Though the most important for figures; strangely it is my 4th favorite overall.

1982 cause that's the year the coolest toys came out.
Can't pin it down to one year, there were good things every year. The stuff from '93 to 2006 was ugh. 1982-1992, 2007+

Every year has some great figures (1982-1990, and to a much lesser degree 1991-1994) but 1984 is the only year I can think of where there were really no weak characters (1983 and 1985 honestly are just as good, but '84 has the most sentimental value for me).
