Question about Major Bludd

I was just wondering about the Major Bludd issue in Wave 8. Was that the card that was issued with the 25th logo on it, or was he released earlier with that logo?

Just curious as no other figure in that wave had the 25th logo.

I think so... if I'm reading the question right. Wave 8's Bludd had the Silver border and was the last figure to carry the 25th scheme.

Yes, that is true. He was the last one to carry the 25th logo.

Here's a major Bludd question: Why does he have three fingers on his right hand on the carded version?

FYI, Major Bludd was originally scheduled to come out with wave 7 in March, 2008, but was held back until April, 2008 and released as the only foil carded figure in the wave 8 cases. He was later released on a comic card, I think in wave 9 cases. Wave 8 with Baroness, CC w/ MASS Device crystal, Roadblock, etc. was the first non-foiled wave.
As for the hand question, my vintage ARAH figure has only 3 fingers on his right hand (I'm looking at him right now). I think it's supposed to be a prosthetic hand and arm, as it has no articulation. I can't look at my either of my carded 25th figures, as I have them packed up right now.

That answered my question but only brought up more. The dvd pack and desert pack has Bludd as having a regular hand. I have every Major Bludd from 91 to today and they have regular hands except for the carded 25 and 83. My question now is does he have a prosthetic hand or is that some sort of bionic enhancement and what is the back story on the arm?

The carded one matches the '83 figure; the dvd pack one is like the cartoon...

I have never seen anything mentioned in the comics (although to be honest, I don't own all the DDP issues) about his problems. His is the least thorough background of all the Cobra Command leaders. I keep hoping that his background would be explored, but nothing so far. I have only a hand full of Bludds, mostly the early ones, and none that I have handy to look at. The only reason I had the '83 out is that I was replacing his o-ring when I saw the thread.

I remember reading somewhere that Bludd's arm and hand were ret-conned into being reinforcement/shielding necessary to fire his hand-held mini rockets. I don't have any concrete info, though, and could very well be mistaken.
