I am more than impressed with the 25th and modern era lines...That is just my opinion just like the OP has his opinion...What works for me may not work for others...I respect the OP,s opinion that this line is not as good as previous figures in it...
Selling my entire collection... Check it out...

I can see where the original poster is coming from. If you see the line as the 82-94 style, it can be hard to see it any other way.
Not to beat my dead horse... but as a die hard Micronauts collector, even if the skies parted and there was a new line of Micronauts it just wouldn't sit with me correctly. I love the old 'nauts for their gangly dorkiness. (really, that is part of the draw... not trying to make fun of anything)
But if this magical new line of Micronauts were to be made with more articulation, and improved sculpts I would be all over it. I would just keep them separate from my vintage stuff. (I know... no one cares about Micronauts. It's just an example)
I'm still not with you, but I can see your perspective. I guess my next question would be... Have you bought any of the new figures?

yea, my little nephew has some. I just cant get over the fact that hasbro would produce all these figures with codpeices! Anyway i am really enjoying this debate. I still feel though i have nobody on my side. thats ok though, i agree we are all g.i.joe collectors here and that alone makes us unique, due to the fact that we havent gave in to those bastards over at KENNER..... well some of us haven't.

Personally, if it's 3 3/4 Joe, I love it. I'm in the minority with that one, but I'll stand by it. The military fantasy is something that every redblooded American boy child can appreciate, and that fact that their small enough to pack two or three of them along in your pocket....BONUS! (at least from my inner childs veiw).

i am all for the arah line.amazing job Hasbro did with the 25th and although the character designs are based on the 80's,they don't aged much to me.with new improvements on articulation, more realistic sculpts and added accesories like removable helmets, vests and holsters for some figures, i am all for it.

I like the 25th line. So much in fact, I canned most of my vintage collection.
But for everything that makes these figures awesome. There is one thing lacking: a variety of characters.
I really want to see more of the obscure characters done. Because until then, I'm holding onto my ARAH.

Ya know I partially agree with you on the later vintage Joe's.
I pretty much stopped collecting everything when the animated movie came out. Everything after that was rubbish.
Although I do love the 25th ann. line for it's better sculpting and detail. But they kinda suck for posing.
Now! The original line was the fantastic for posability. BUT the new guys, just hands down look better.
And I only buy the 25th ann. figures that I like. I'm not a completist. You will never see me wasting any money on stupid Tiger Force/Python Patrol repaints, or shit like The Croc master.
Sorry for the rant.

How can you NOT like the new 25th/Modern Era line?? The figures comes with more accesories. Everyone has more than 1 gun and come with knives !!! So if they ever run out of bullets... they can sneak up and stab your ass! I can't say that about the 80's line, and that's why I collect. Plus.. there are variants that make us crazy trying to find em too! I just wished we had like 8 - 10 pegs to satisfy our hunger for troop building soldiers like that ever elusive EEL !!
