I think the view of the OP would have went over much better on one of the other GI Joe forums. I just don't see what there is to hate about the 25th / Modern Era line.

Don't bash the 25th line......they are a whole new opportunity for those who don't have the originals(whick look worse)...embrace both

Bashing either the 25th line or the Vintage line is a little silly. Neither could exist without the other.
I loved Vintage ARAH when I was a kid and some of the vintage vehicles still really stand the test of time and I have bought several to go with my 25th Joes.
However, the 25th Joes are way better articulated and sculpted and I much prefer them loose to display than the vintage ones. Vintage are great MOC cause they hold that nostalgia.
Both lines have their place but the 25th line is what will keep Joes alive and I LOVE It.. Its what got me back into Action Figures. I held off for awhile but once I caved I Caved hard.
This Tank is big enough for both 25th and Vintage collectors and to try and start a war over this would be very self defeating on both parts.

That being said. I collected from 82-87/88 or so. Yes the figures were cool. I still have all of mine and they are in great condition. I may even get around to displaying them soon. But the new line is heads above the vintage line (literally, they are taller...zing!)
I'm also a Star Wars collector. I have all my vintage figures and may get around to displaying them for the nostalgia factor as well. But when the line re-launched in 95, I thought those figures were a million times better than the vintage... And now, several years later, most of the re-launched figures from the first few years have been redone and make the versions from the 90's look lame. And since I don't really have much of a nostalgic place in my heart for those figures, they sit in a container out of view. The newer, better versions get displayed.
I guess the moral of the story is don't let nostalgia blind you to the improvements of the new line. When something better comes along, there is no harm in enjoying it...

Trolls will be Trolls I guess....
the 25th/Modern era is the best toy line out right now.
I dont think anyone can say is better then ARAH just updated, without ARAH this line wouldnt even exist. I dont collect ARAH I collect 25th because it reminds me of the ARAH line and It wont cost me a arm and a leg to find all my favs. before the 25th line I was collecting DC Direct bu gave them all to my nefue, now all I have is my Joes(just like the good ol days)
