Sorry but I have to disagree with you there. The movie and resolute lines have nothing to do with the 25th anniversary line. They may share the same body style and names but they're completely different lines of Joes and should not ever be confused with the anniversary (classics) toyline that Hasbro is slowly wrapping up.

Stunning and optimistic? You must have found that thread from a year or two ago when someone heard a rumor they were going to make a GI Joe movie that remained true to the Joe line we all grew up with. I admit I was stunned and optimistic after reading that too. Then the reality of it started to trickle in. Sorry. :P |

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long...And you have burned so very, very brightly Joe.
Hasbro has done some questionable things... And some extraordinary things...Revel in them. All those moments will be lost in time...like tears in the rain.

I'm not done but I'm not a fan of Python Patrol, Tiger Force, Resolute, or the movie figs so I don't know where that leaves me at this point.
Besides I took advantage of most of the HTS sales and got all of the new figs I wanted before I ever saw them at retail. |

I've considered giving up, but only because there's never anything new around here. Just Dreadnoks galore.

I got in a lull the other day, but I think it's because I packed up my Joes at Christmas and moved them from my office desk to home... I don't have room to display them at home, so I think I'm going to move them back to work, but didn't want to leave them there over the holiday for 3 weeks unsupervised...
Good thing I didn't leave them, several things went missing from our office, and I don't put it past someone to pocket a toy or 2 from some nerd's desk... Someone ate snacks from my drawers, which is definitely an invasion of personal space... Anyhow, I got them back out to sort out "extras" for trades recently, and it sparked it up again... Right now though, I'm 99.99% caught up, with only a few "doubles" to pick up if I find them in-store or at a good price (Cobra Troop-builders only) and a few from Wave 4 (recards from the first 2 5-packs that I passed on the first time around since I already had them). So I'm not really hunting much in stores, and not too excited until Toyfair lets us know what's coming out... Otherwise, I'm going to just wait, but I do hope we get a few more "classic" guys and gals before that movie hits. Hiatuses don't always work out as hoped by the fans or planned by the manufacturers. |

i've stopped collecting vehicles and playsets due to space and money limitations. i will continue to collect the figures that appeal to me... although, i must say, the next batch of figures that have been rumored/confirmed have very little appeal to me. i won't be buying any movie figures, no more sub-team repaints, etc. i will be picking up a few (Zap, Outback, a bunch of Alley-Vipers), but i think i will be saving a lot of money in 09.
