I think alot of fans have complained a little too much about joints with limited range of motion. I know that it sucks when your figures won't bend the way you want, but this is one "fan-boy" who will do something about it instead of complaining. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Hasbro continues to improve their designs and give us better figures, but you can fix the ones you already own with just a little work.
I have used razor blades and scalpels to carefully shave back the plastic on many of my figures joints. With carefull work I've gotten my "duke arms" to bend at 90 degrees and my "V" crotch figures sit normaly. I even fixed the ankles on my Cobra Vipers. Guys; its really not that hard. The Vipers' ankles don't need any fixing. They've got a wide range of motion, right out of the package. In fact, they have better ankle articulation, than a lot of the other 25th style Joes.

Well, My Cobra Viper's ankles wouldn't let them stand up straight without their battle-stands... Some quick work with a razor blade and now they stand just fine.

I'm glad Hasbro "trys" to improve the figures little by little. But it's been 18-19 months that this line has been out and certain thing should have been corrected by now. If I'm paying $6.84 and up for a figure, that figure better be 90% close to perfect. Hasbro has a weird way of thinking; they release Cobra Flint with the correct crotch articulation that we've all wanted from the begining and then turn around and release Cobra Trooper (Wave 12) who is pretty damn close to what collectors want and they release it with the '07 crotch. Tiger Force Duke arms, yeah!, yet we still get certain figures with the Duke 'slit my wrist' arms. The biggest slap in the face from Hasbro is the Cobra Viper in the new upcoming 5 pack. Chrome face plate and fixed arms yet the Viper 5 pack (w/ Mercer) we get the same P.O.S. arms from the Wave 7 Viper. Us collectors will always complain about something, because Hasbro gets it just right and turns around and f's it up. It's a never ending battle.
So in other words why pay $7.00 a figure and then buy tools to fix something that should have been done right the first time? |
