So I was thinking about having my boxes of Joe collection slimming down. Way too much closet space being used right now! What the questions are that I pose to everyone out there are -
How do you store cardbacks and vehicle boxes? Right now my cards have the bubbles still attached. Should I remove them to take up way less room? Do you keep boxes? If so how, broken down or full? |

Depends on how rare a vehicle is. I would check out the secondary market prices before throwing anything out. As far as the bubbles for opened figures, I don't think that's always necessary. Again it depends on rarity and how old a figure is. Toys are always worth more with the packaging than without. But do whatever makes you happy.

I don't want to throw any boxes away, just break them down. My real concern is for the blister bubbles. Does it really matter to have that to increase secondary market value?

In all honesty, I haven't retained ANY packaging or paperwork for the line since 2004. The original intent was to offer something in addition to the figure...but with the internet, everything relevant on the cards is available for easy viewing.

I really stopped worrying about resale value a long time ago. If you collect with the intention of selling just open a store. These little guys bring me apt of joy and can't imagine selling them so why does it matter about a box if you plan to keep it?

I used to hold the cards with the bubbles still on them until I really saw how much space was being wasted. I ended up Xacto-ing the bubbles off and now I'm able to squeeze every single card into 1 box that one of my 25th waves came in. We're talking 100+ cards
+ the only box I kept was the one the 25th Water Moccasin came in. All else got recycled

I appreciate the input. It definitely isn't that I want to sell my collection, but if it ever comes down to that, I want to make the most of the sad experience.

I used large comic book boxes from the local comic store for carded figures. They fit very well.
