With nothing being announced for the Modern Hero line past wave 13, it concerns me that this line is finished due to Resolute and the up-coming movie. Wave 14 and on has not been announced yet; which is surprising because we usually know about future waves prior to the previous wave being released.
If they do end up making more of the old-school characters, my fear is that they're going to put them on cards that say 'Gi Joe Resolute' instead of the 'Gi Joe: Real American Hero' cards that we're all used to seeing. I couldn't imagine Dr. Mind Bender, Chuckles and so on with Resolute print on their cards. That would just be sad since I am a MOC collector =(. So any word if they're planning on continuing this line, or is it dead now? On a side note, I have started focusing my attention back onto Transformers since new Gi Joe figures are now questionable due to the G1 Universe line being amazing and the Masterpiece line being absolutely phenomenal =). |

I doubt it's over. It was successful so it will continue more than likely. I don't see why they wouldn't continue to release cases containing both Resolute figures as well as figures based on RAH, on RAH styled card backs. We only have another month or so until we'll get to see what all Hasbro has planned at Toy Fair and I bet it will make us all feel a phantom pain in our wallets.

I think we'll see wave 14-18 pre orders after Toy Fair. They need enough time to manufacter them before they begin to hit our wallets.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long...and you have burned so very, very brightly Joe.

Dude, relax.
True, there hasn't been any announcements for more modern era figures. But they haven't really anounced anything new for resolute or the movie either aside from the five pack. We have no idea what the next wave of singles or comic packs will look like, so please don't jump the gun. Also; packaging changes are inevitible, eventually new product won't match your MOC collection regardless of what direction the toy line takes, so you can either deal with a change in labeling or "Teh end of teh line!" when it does happen. Personally I don't collect MOC so I don't give a rats pajamas what the packaging looks like. But that's me...... Just wait and see man, just wait and see....... heh heh |

I find it odd as well that we haven't heard about or seen pictures of the newer waves when usually we have info about figures 3 to 4 waves in advance. I agree that Hasbro is probably keeping everything under wraps until Toy Fair. Although in the past information gets leaked no matter how hard they try to keep us from it. I find it hard to believe that future waves are all just being kept a secret.... something is going on with the line.
Expect 2009 to be centered around the movie. We will see the largest number of figures and vehicles based on the movie and when these dont sell and the movie does so-so Hasbro will cut their losses and revert back to reproducing the ARAH line. As far as Resolute goes information on it has been very scarce which I think is due to a production delay (I am guessing no facts to back this up). If Hasbro was smart or had the show ready to go then they would be hyping it more and we would be seeing countdowns and more info / teasers or at least an expected air date. Toy Fair, however, could provide an all out barrage of information on both Resolute and future figures. In summary I believe we will be seeing Hasbro focus on movie based figures and they do not want to release too much info about these in order to keep aspects of the movie secret. It wont last. The 25th line we know and love will mostl likely return in 2010 after more than half of us Tankers stop buying Joes. Depending on how Resolute is received we might see figures from that for a while but let's face it.... how many figures are you going to get from a 50 minute story... roughly a little over 2 episodes of the original series worth of running time.
