[UPDATE]
http://ctgbiz.com/Archive/action_fig..._Centurian.htm Check out this basic figure layout and let me know what you think please? [Old News] READ ONLY IF YOU WANT TO: I have pulled ideas from YoJoe, He-Man.org, Rebelscum and a few other sites as well as ideas of my own to build a super archive of all video games and toys (with ID Figures, ID Parts, ID Vehicles, & ID Video Game Accessories sections!!) First of all, there is a whole lot of text in the archive right now but no links yet. I would love for Hiss Tank members to be the first to browse the layout and give me some feedback on the basic set up and search features that are present. Think of this as a YoJoe archive for everything you can imagine! I know some of you collect other items as well. I am looking for pictures of toys (loose complete, loose front, loose back, packaged, and individual pics of accessories) for the archive and ID pages. I would also like to know the scale (3.75 inch, 6 inch etc.) and any identifying marks (specifically Country and date stamped on figure, if any). Whomever donates pictures will get free advertising on our site for your store, business, charity, or anything else you would like to promote! I have most GI Joe, Star Wars, TMNT, He-Man, covered. I am looking for Transformers, Go-Bots, Shogun Warriors, Mego, Six Million Dollar Man, 12 inch GI Joe, Battle Beasts and anything else that should be on this site! If you could check this all out and give me some honest feedback, that would be great. CTGLinks archive is for collectors by collectors and I would love to have you all be a part of it! Thanks in advance! YoJoe! Jerry

I've been meaning to build a light booth, as soon as i get it done I will start taking pictures of some of my transformer collection. You should take a look at Welcome to TFU.INFO The Alpha Trion and Omega Prime of Transforming Toys - www.tfu.info, they have a good set up for transformers.

I've got some 360 scans of the Super Go-Bots boxes I can also take some pictures of the toys too.
What about Tyco's Battletech toyline? There's nothing on the net (archive type) for this toy line. I have a few complete/near complete items and a couple of boxes I was thinking of taking archival pics for I like the archive you have going. The only thing I'd suggest is to make all the pics thumbnails you can then click on to make bigger (But that's just my preferrence) |

Lets debate about thumbnails for a second.... 1st and foremost, that's how everyone does it, so it was a way to separate us from them. Secondly, it just saves me lots of time. I would either have to sacrifce more time by making individual pages for each picture, or quality by having the pics just come up on a blank white page (I just think that is boring). Third, I do not plan on posting numerous pics from all angles and such like rebelscum does. I love rebelscum, I am not bashing them, but I think sometimes the amount of pictures is overkill. My goal is to showcase package - items loose - and each character or vehicle included individually (100%, front, back, and accessories). Something like the Ultimate Battle Pack will have a lot of pics I know and may benefit from thumbnails, but I would like to make that the exception and not the rule. So, if you still prefer thumbnails, try to convince me...if it makes sense I will consider it for sure! & THANK YOU!

Here is my one and only arguement for Thumbnails. It allows the main page for said item to be viewed as a whole without having to scroll down or left to see all the pictures. Sometimes you don't need to see a larger picture and sometimes you need that upclose detail. It's nice to be able to just see the figure and it's accessories at a quick glance, but it's good to have the option of a bigger pic as well.
This also allows you to have pictures even bigger than the ones on your page currently (Although having said bigger pictures isn't always neccesary, a huge pic isn't going to really help ID a figure better, but it helps with small accessories) That arguement out of the way, what size should pics be that we send you? (The pics of Go-bot boxes I mentioned are frakking huge!) |

If you have a large amount of pics and large file size, you could snail mail them on disc - I would be happy to paypal the postage to anyone offering up info and pics. Just Let me know!
Thumbnails or no thumbnails...that is the question LOL

There is a javascript that allows you to make a thumbnail and then when you click on it it generates the larger pic without having to create a whole new page for that pic only.
Archive looks good so far. When I get a digital camera I'll try to photo some of the Marvel and McFarlane stuff I have. |

I have tried incorporating some java scripts but I am limited in my web skills...I'm self taught, and haven't been able to figure out that java stuff yet. I hate Shogi (just kidding) for making my brain hurt more, I am currently working on a new layout for the item page, and have made some progress. I will let you know when that is up for review. See...this is why I asked you guys for help...so my mistakes could be "fairly" easily fixed, before I got too far! Thank to everyone so far!
