no matter how you rationalize it to yourself, taking something without paying for it either on purpose or by accident is stealing plain and simple. it doesn't change anything if hasbro made the mistake or you did.
will they arrest or charge you for it, not a chance in hell. what it all comes down to is morals/ethics/honesty. i would have returned it to a store if possible vs. mailing it simply because if it happened to my little boy and he asked what to do, i would tell him to do the right thing and thats return it. i should hold myself to the same standards as i try to instill in my children. i would mail it if they sent me the return label/box unless they are ok with parcel service. who knows, if you call them demanding a return shipping label, they may insist you keep it. then it's a gift naturally many others may disagree as is evident already. if thats the example they choose to set, that's there choice. i don't condone it but i won't rake them over the coals for it either. life is about choices... |

There's no store to return it to because I bought it directly from Hasbro's site. I called to let them know they made a mistake, they asked me to send it back. I will be dropping it off at the post office tomorrow, end of story. It wasn't mine, I didn't pay for it, so it doesn't belong to me.
End of story.

Now I'm no thief, and I will be calling the customer service line later today to tell them. But I don't really feel like taking the time, or spending any money to send this back. I didn't ask for it, and I'm not facing the heaviest shipping season of the year for their mistake. I've decided to call them and listen to what they want me to do and kind of wing it from there. I would like to hear any other advice. Is this a common mistake? |

Now there's some irony for ya. I packed the trooper up and will drop him off today on the way home from work. Personally, I think they should have told me to keep it. Now, I think they should send me a Yellow Stalker for all my troubles. ;)

What I paid in shipping charges for an order they couldn't bother to cancel in five days should cover it if you want to keep the figure. ;)
