Because the 2 five packs and the first 15 single packs were initially the only things planned for the entire series.

Well, the Hiss had a DTC update and I think it's much better than the mold they keep releasing now. The Mobat...yeah, it sucks they didn't update it, but I think it's mainly because it was a Target exclusive. I'm holding out hope for an updated Mauler.

Yep, even though that was arguably just Hasbro's worst case scenario with the line if it failed to sell. 25 figures to celebrate 25 years... unless you like them, then we'll milk it till the movie.

The Hiss was always a plain tank and would have loved to see Hasbro maybe re-design it and add a couple extra features to it but just not the case this time. perhaps when the movie comes out we will se some really cool vehicles and maybe a new re-designed HISS.
my question is how come when the 25th line came out and Target had the Hiss, Awe Striker, and Night Spectre that they were only $9.99 and now the Sharc, Awe Striker and Hiss are all $15.99. same vehicles just different figures and paint apps.

They're kinda less detailed, but they're still classic vehicles. Sure, new detailing would be great, but if this is the only way to get them, I'll wait.

With all of their efforts focused on the movie line, my hope is that Hasbro spent their tooling costs there. I'd be pretty disappointed if the new movie toys suck. |

I think most of us know this, but this statement is now almost 2 years old. Hasbro quickly changed their plans once they saw how much $ they were making with this line. So saying that they didn't have time to plan out a long-term vehicle strategy over the last 18 months isn't really accurate.

Man, the new Claw gets a lot of grief. It's obviously meant to be a cheap pack in to pad out a package when the main vehicle isn't quite big enough to fill out the price point, but is too big to warrant a second full vehicle.
I just see it as the CLAW Mk II; smaller, lighter, and more powerfull than the original. The smaller size would also make it a more difficult target to hit. Good thing, since they're planning to pack a bright red one in with an anti aircraft gun. |
