OK.. now I know we are getting a break from the Joes. We have to wait for the movie figures and blah blah blah. The movie is scheduled to come out the last half of 2009 which puts the movie figures out possibly by April... maybe March if they want to get em out early. I don't know what we are getting between NOW and then for the pegs.
BUT I DO KNOW THIS!! I have 3 Wal Marts in my area. Each one has dwindled their Joes down to 1 peg and now one of them has 0 pegs for Joes!! But what have they put in their place.... THE CORP!! I swear there are 9 to 11 pegs filled with the damn CORP!! We also have 4 pegs filled with those small crappy Joe mini 2 packs that will sit on the shelf and rot. That was a real waste of PLASTIC HASBRO!! I cannot believe there is that much of the damn CORP!!! In fact there are some places with no Joe Vehicles, and the TRU here has 1 peg for JOES, and the rest of that they filled with military crap that isn't remotely G I JOE anyway!! So what has Wal Mart or any other store done to your Joe section that has you baffled or pissed?? Makes me not even want to go hunting anymore... waste of time! |

yeah I feel your pain my friend my local toys r us has only maybe 1 to 2 pegs of 25th joe items and a few vehicles and army builders and the 5-packs that never sell but the rest is like what you said the whole military 3 3/4 figures is all just a bunch of generic army toys to just fill up the isle.
I have to travel 30-40 min to the closet target kmart or toys r us that actually carry's them in bulk nothing in town is stocked like the other places are. Also I think it might do with the fact of the city's population maybe, bigger cities = more people to purchase the new items or they move faster. I dunno |

This has been discussed in other threads, but don't panic for now. Wal-Marts, Targets, etc always do a reset on their aisle planograms (aisle set up instructions) after the holidays. They got all their Christmas stock in Nov and early Dec and are just trying to sell through what they got so they're not stuck with it in Jan.
Stores "flex" their aisle set ups to get as much product that they do have out and consolidate what's left of the product lines that did sell. Just wait until the toy aisle get reset after the holidays to see how many pegs etc the Joes have on the new planograms. Don't worry, it just looks like your local Wal-Mart is sitting on a shit ton of Corps stuff. As for Joe hunting right now, best bet is to check back after Christmas unless you happen to be there. |

I think this is a result of the GI Joe pegs being empty and no new Joes in the back and the Corps and etc. having alot of extra figures and Walmart is just trying to cram every toy in the building on the shelves.

i honestly have a hard time believing the corps crap actually sells... i see tons of this stuff and it's peg warming more than ij stuff.
the small morphed figures are an utter waste. i've said as much since the news broke. minature, morphed scale figures that essentially do nothing...whats the draw in that? i can't tell you how many stores have these crammed in every back shelf corner, side end cap box they can find. even if they clearance these i refuse to buy them. at best they make good x-mas tree ornaments but thats abotu all the good i could do with them. my local walmart has actually increased the pegs for joes however it's only to server thier own needs for stocking and restocking the revision waves which they oddly enough continue to get in vs. new waves. just this past weekend i found a couple fresh cases of wave 9.

Thanks Captain Carstein.. I needed that refresher. I totally forgot about the resets after the holidays. When Wal mart used to carry models and paint.. thats when I used to stock up for dirt cheap!! Heck.. maybe then I can finally find Waves 12 and 13 after December. Makes complete sense now... DUH!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping that they would continue to get Waves 11-13 so I can find more Eels, but all I see are one or two barely filled pegs and even one Walmart has the Combat Heroes in place of the regular Joes.

of the five or so walmarts i regular, no two are even similar in situation.
one is drowning in CPs one is drowning in older singles one has more vehicles than they need one has practically nothing one has no dvd sets whatsoever one has more combat heroes than theyll sell even on clearance. |
