Hey not looking for an arguement here...I think its neat that you were able to get more Joes for $4.99. Having worked in retail and having to give into customers that found an old price/sale tag for example, I use that tactic from time to time when shopping even when I know what the real price is supposed to be.
On the other hand there is that honesty thing...just like when the cashier forgets to ring up something or gave you too much change. Using a rain check over and over...I can definitely see both sides on that issue. Just my 2 cents. |

I think some people on this site just carry a "holier than thou" attitude at times.
If they ring up the rain check and do not ask/take the rain check from you and you choose to hand them the rain check, then that's your choice. But to say that he is stealing? Come on, seriously? |

This is not stealing, nor is it anything like stealing. They gave you a raincheck. They scan the raincheck and have the opportunity to take it from you at any time.
If they take it from you, then you have absolutely no right to keep it or to argue with them over it. If they let you keep it, then you are well within your rights. Have they asked you for it? If its a open ended raincheck with no quality or time limit, just Joes for $4.99, your pretty much golden. Who's to say that you wouldn't have bought 20 Joes if they had the ones you wanted in stock. |

Well, in my case the guy at the service desk asked if I wanted a rain check. I did not ask for one nor did I attempt to do anything shady or dishonest. I asked him why and he said in case I saw a figure or two that I wanted at a later date. I was not about to pass on that offer. Now, it probably would have been a little shady if I had known the guy or if he had given me the rain check as a way of helping a buddy out. In this case, however, I had never met the guy before so he gained nothing by giving me a raincheck other than to encourage me to spend some money at Target.

My only question is if there is a quanity/limit on the raincheck. A lot of sales involve buy one get one for whatever type sales so you would have to get multipule rainchecks to pick up 4 for example.

I wasn't smart enough to get a rain check. Considering I spend between $200-$300 a month of plastic I would have no qualms about double and tripling dipping a $1.85 coupon.
