Repacking WILL increase with Box Art
That was my vote... here's what I want though. I want to be able to build and put on ALL the stickers to my vehicles. It's my f'n zen time. I swear.

Don't know if this has been pointed out yet but having Boxart means they will eliminate the diorama too. I like the dioramas which are useful in toy photography so I vote Window packaging. The only plus of boxart is the unapplied stickers.

I guarantee we will hear stories about repacks on a daily basis.
This is the sole reason Hasbro went with the window packages as stores were getting fed up with the returns of repack complaints. They do kind of look like book flaps, and I hope they are. I vote against box art. |

In the box! The box art is half of what makes the toy line. The window packaging is pure crap. You can find one mint on the shelf, but if you don't tell the cashier to "NOT GRAB THE EFFIN BOX BY THE PLASTIC!" It'll get bent. Plus, it just looks anti-nostalgic anyway.
The trick is to have each boxed package loaded with explosive ink like they use for bank robberies. You have to enter in a code given to you at the register online or by telephone to deactivate the explosive ink device prior to opening. That way, we can easily identify the douche bags that repack stuff. But really, a special labeled "Hasbro" tape could be used to seal the boxes, like the post office tape. That would at least weed out the repacking dorks who aren't high tech enough to clone the "official seal" tape. Damn, longest post ever. But, the art of G.I. Joe is half the battle! |

Man thats a tough one... I LOVED full box art but the whole repackaging thing could become more of a problem because of all the idiots around. There is a guy in my area who runs rampant with all his repackages regardless if there is a window or not. Theres a DVD pack with a bunch of spy troops just thrown in without care and it makes me so mad every time I see it.
Remember, most of us order our stuffs from the intraweb so it shouldn't be a problem with that stuff. But be careful on ebay. |

Thanks for all the input 'tankers!
About the "you should see the tape has been messed with" aspect. It's really easy to remove tape and replace it wihout anyone being able to tell. Anyone who is serious about collecting has learned how to remove price tags, clearance stickers and that sort of thing to return the package to original mint-like condition. So seeing a clean piece of tape on the side is not a guarantee that it's never been opened. If a repacker is in a hurry, then yeah, they would just tape over the old tape and that would be easy to spot. Remember that even a shrink wrapped item is not guaranteed either, many shops have shrink wrap machines so they can just re-wrap it and it looks just like new. You'll never really know until you open it. I didn't think about the dioramas. I won't really miss them though. The best new point in this discussion is the "put all the stickers on yourself" bit. Yeah! Now that's something to love. Unapplied stickers would also make custom paint jobs much easier. Keep it coming guys. I hope we see some book-style packages with all stickers off. That would keep everyone happy yeah?

I despise window packaging. I love the box art. I wish all my G1 Transformers were packaged like Quickswitch, Trypticon, Sky Lynx, Metroplex etc.
