Hey guys, wanted to post some pics of the two variations of the Wave 5 Re-Issue Commando Snake Eyes that's out there.
The top one is the latest version that has been shipping with wave 13. The one below is from an earlier revision case. If you notice, the top one's artwork sits higher on the card. Also the highlights are different. The top one has warmer tones while the other one has cooler tones like blues and purples. Last edited by FreddyTV; 12-14-2008 at 06:54 AM.. |

When you look at the back, the differences are more obvious. The Wave 13 version has Wave 13 figures on it while the other version does not.
Other differences are the file cards. The information is slightly different on each. Last edited by FreddyTV; 12-14-2008 at 07:04 AM.. |

I noticed that on the 25th cards as well, but not only with Snake Eyes. I noticed this with every card. Not only that but check out other toy lines as well. It all has to do with the level of ink that was in that particular printer that printed that card.
Of course there will be "variations" in colors, hues, brightness and darkness from one card to the next but that's no reason to call it a "variant". You can see this taking place on everyday products as well. Check 2 of the same type of ceral boxes at the supermarket. Or even 2 of the same newspaper or magazine. It all has to do with the ink and printers they are using. On a side note I just bought a Barbecue figure and on his file card the black rectangle that has the G.I. Joe logo on it underneath his picture is transparent. I can see the rest of Barbecue through it. Edit: Ok I didn't see the differences on the back of the card before I posted this. I still consider that a production change though.

they did the same thing with the para-viper, wave 10's card is normal, but the ''troop builder wave'' has the different backing.... not sure about the picture placement on front though...
