IMO if both the movie and the movie toy line fails (I'm betting it does) then it could hurt the immediate release of any future 25th Joes. I don't think Hasbro will distinguish between the movie line and the regular line when it comes to how popular they are; if one fails it may drag the other one down with it.
When the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie tanked at the box office Squaresoft pretty much went out of business and eventually had to merge with Enix to survive. Personally, I wish the movie was never gonna happen and they would just focus all their efforts on Resolute and ARAH remakes before the inevitable end comes. |

Uh... no, that is not the case. Square had to close its animation studio, NOT itself. Square made so much money off of FFVII that they can afford to make many different TSW movies they want to and still be set for another 20 years.

Okay, I'll take your word for it. *shrugs* It is just that the main offices where they actually made the movie was in Hawaii (passed by it almost everyday) and before the movie came out Square was talking about expanding here and making their presence permanent and when the movie tanked on opening day... they stopped talking. LOL.
And then a couple of months later they were gone... completely. They should've just passed on Spirits Within and went straight to Advent Children IMO. Just saying a failure of the G.I. Joe movie may have unforeseeable consequences to the 25th line is all. *shrugs* |

Spirits Within wasnt very good but anything CGI not staring cartoony humans, talking animals, robots or toys is bound to be bad.

Throw rocks at me, but those movie designs, from what I've seen, are fucking awesome looking.
I don't really give a shit about the movie, I'm sure I'll see it, but the figures look great. Hopefully after the movie runs it's course, they start kicking out the re-done joe goodness.

I wouldn't consider those toys o be "fucking awsome" unless pictures of the actual figures have surfaced and I missed them. Or lest you're being facetious, in which case, consider me punk'd.

The movie is going to be a big hit.
Don't believe me? Show up to opening night. Your going to see nothing but 8 year olds kids acting out the moves of Snake Eyes they saw in the trailer. Remember Iron Man? Those toys are still selling. But with gi joe movie line, you have people my age and their kids wanting the toys. The line won't be cancelled, but will rather be a big seller. |

Perhaps I've missed something, but what movie toys have we really seen? The Thunder (Resolute Duke repaint) or Snowjob with cammo and green highlights?
