Anyone else think's Hasbro's quality control for the 25th line is out of wack? Everything from sloppy placement of stickers on vehicles to figures with wondering eyes, and paint splashed all over the web gear.
I grew up with the 83-86 line and never remembering anything this bad. I mean, old joes were spot on. I find myself going through lots of figs just to find one with its eyes looking strait ahead, so checking the difference in paint that is obviously being brushed on in a hurry. Its a shame. While the new figs crush the old ones in terms of poseability, detail, and proportions, the paint jobs on the originals just blows away most of that I've seen from this line. I actually think the original 25th waves were okay, but lately it just seems like they are getting worse. The final straw for me was the Resolute Cobra trooper. I actually painted over his eye before painting in my own. What do you all think? |

REALLY! Hasbro has QC department????? I didn't know that, and if they do, tell them start working ... If they do, I would not be touching up every damn figures that I got from Hasbro.

QC was one of my suggested questions for the last QnA. Instead, we got the Matt Trakker question for the umpteenth time.

It wasn't this bad a year ago and seems to have gotten worse only in the last 8 months or so. I'd rather the money go to new figures more than hiring better or more QCers however.

There are many more paint apps for the new line compared to the old line... Just saying. The more there is, the more likely it is to get a screw up.

I would certainly agree with this statement. When you put them side by side you really notice all of the detail they have included in the new 25th line so they are bound to mess up here and there

I'm just guessing but I would bet that they started using the Indy factories to crank out more Joes once the IJ line was finished. And we all know how bad the paint apps on most of those figures look.

As I've heard it, they had originally planned a very limited release prior to the movie. So, all in all, we should be happy to be even discussing this about wave (what's it up to now?) 13, plus vehicles, comic packs, exclusives, 3 packs, 5 packs, etc. I know that doesn't fly when the fig you want looks like crap (and that's the only one you've found in weeks of hunting). But, that's better than the whole line being cheap looking (IJ). |

Does anyone know for sure... are all paint apps computer/machine applied?
I mean, I would assume so but...... Anyway, QC hasn't been *TOO* bad considering the sheer volume of figures that I've bought in this line. I just always wonder about the stupid things like.... no eyes... missing sideburns...missing paint apps like that... that's why I wonder if any are actually applied by humans, or just machines. |
