Well let’s be frank just how much is a Joe base like such worth to you...
ILuvCoverGirl's Album: Original GI Joe HQ 1982 - HissTank.com - G.I. Joe I myself would only put out about $450.00 to $600.00... if it was plastic. (but might go higher)

Depends for a good price if he threw in both I would pay the demand price.
If it was plastic 200 for one for both maybe 350 minimum |

I prefer to build my own unless I got a good deal on it.

Yeah it seems like a waste of cash to pay for someone else's hard work. You would be more fulfilled and have more pride in something like that if you created it yourself.

There's a lot of things to consider when talking pricing on a custom playset, especially like the one linked above:
Cost of Materials Time involved Attention to detail I'd say over $500 easily. |

Something lat large would go or serious cash wer eit to be sold retail... 35ft long? Well more than a $1000... I, like others mentioned here, would prefer to build said base rather than pay the outrageous price it would go for. And once built, I probably would sell it off. Why you ask? SO I could make another. Seems like that would be serious fun to do and would only get better the more you made. Problem would be finding a buyer who has the space to place such a massive collector piece.

Well I don't really want to put a price tag on ILuvCoverGirl's awesome work, but by way of comparision I've done high quaility terrain/battle boards and custom buildings and assorted terrain pieces for 25mm scale minature wargamming. The simplest set up I did was a pair of desert boards that sold for $600 a piece, but a typical woodland board is around $1000 easy complete with hills, woods and maybe some buildings or watereffects.
A custom building the size of the Joe HQ done up with detail painting and weathering effect mounted on a perment base would go for somewhere in the ballpark of $5000+ easy. Biggest thing is the buyer. Usually something like this would be ordered as commision work. Just my two cents. Last edited by Captain Carstein; 12-06-2008 at 11:14 PM.. |
