The line in it's current form is about to end and the movie line shall take over.
Alas, who is left from the prime run of '82-87 to be immortalized in the 25th style? I know: '82 Zap Last edited by Ewokhunter92; 12-05-2008 at 12:08 PM.. |

Where did you hear the current line will end? From everything that has been said and indicated, the Modern Era line will continue.
There will end up being 3 lines of Joe: Modern Era (the current one), Resolute and Movie.

Instead of more generic green guys from 82, I'd rather see Hasbro head into the break with more guys from 86-91. I think the fans of this period have been a tad under-served.

Plus, Ripcord as we know him may not see new style. But, I am also just asking who is left because we all know the movie line will dump crappy rehashes before classics will get treatment. |

Where did they say they wouldn't continue this card style?
Far as I've heard, there will be 3 styles. From the letter that went out with Round 4 Q&A: "With the release of the 2009 movie you will see many of your favorite 1980's characters in movie styling, but that does not mean the end of the classic style. The Hasbro G.I. Joe team recognizes that there are plenty of additional classic 1980's figures and vehicles to release in the future after the movie and in the years to come."

I can live with the card art being changed. Release the movie figures, god willing they crossover to the kids market so Hasbro has the money to keep giving us collectors classic RAH designs, even if the card title says otherwise.

Yes, there are fans of those years, but the majority prefer 82'-82 with maybe a few 88-89 in there. |

Up to 86 I'd love to see 'em all...a few from '87...the rest I'm not particularly interested in or have no nostalgia for, since I dropped the line in '87 (Cobra-La was TEH DETH OF TEH LINE).
Though I certainly wouldn't complain if they all got done. |

I want a Night Viper, I think he was '89
They still have plenty of characters left to do, I believe they will be milking it for quite awhile. |
