I was over at gijoe.com to read their last round of 2008 question/answer from Hasbro and saw that they have their images of the new 5-packs.
It reads "HASBRO NEWS: Hasbro has provided a preview of the first two action figure five packs for 2009...G.I. JOE SET and COBRA SET!"

From your typing to God's ears. I would buy at least two of these.

Where are you seeing this on GI Joe Official Site - G.I. Joe Action Figures, Toys, Online Games, Videos (which will redirect to GI Joe Official Site - G.I. Joe Action Figures, Toys, Online Games, Videos )? I don't see it anywhere.

Hasbro would have to be crazy not to make a BAT 5 pack, they would sell out all day long!

A B.A.T. set is almost a no-brainer, and would sell like hotcakes. A nice set addition would be a battle damaged one or pieces to have debris. I mean, they did the skeleton for the DVD pack, which is a fairly useless display piece (although cool, don't get me wrong) I don't see how mangling a few B.A.T. pieces would be that hard for them.
*edit* I take no credit for finding it...I followed a link from JoeSightings (are we still playing the no links/mentioning other sites game? I can't keep up.) Edited to remove link cause I honestly don't know if it's allowed! LOL Last edited by darthfoley; 12-04-2008 at 11:04 PM.. |

I wouldn't mind decent 5-packs, but if they're going to do an army builder, can they at least do basic Vipers or Troopers, so that they're the classic colors to blend with the single-cards, and fix any errors so you're not buying a 5-pack full of Duke arms (like the TRU greenshirt pack)?
We haven't gotten a good army-builder set in 25th style besides the CG set, if you ask me. The Nightwatch was okay, but I'm not a fan of the Nightwatch scheme... All along, we haven't gotten a solid set of 2 matching Troopers or Vipers, and they're the most iconic troopers in the Cobra ranks. A B.A.T. set is almost a no-brainer, and would sell like hotcakes. A nice set addition would be a battle damaged one or pieces to have debris. I mean, they did the skeleton for the DVD pack, which is a fairly useless display piece (although cool, don't get me wrong) I don't see how mangling a few B.A.T. pieces would be that hard for them. I agree with every word except I liked the night watch troopers. For real though, how hard would it be to make the black mask red sigil trooper in the same color as the og 5pack one and put 5 in a box? I would get tons of them. |

How about a 5 pack of:
BAT x1 Viper x1 IG x1 EEL x1 Cobra Trooper x1 No funky paints or different weapons. Just straight up repacks of the best troops. This could be called "The REAL Cobra Legions 5 Pack". |

TROOP BUILDERS! I know the old HTS 6 packs of classic Cobra troopers did well, we need more of that. Keep the colors iconic!
4 Classic Cobra Troopers, 1 Officer 4 BAT's - 1 Cobra Control Officer (Maybe a Televiper or Techno Viper) 5 Vipers 3 Eels - 2 Cobra Divers in Eel color schemes - Water Training Pack That would make me very happy, and very poor.
