Just wondering who on here was a huge airborne fan as a kid and still doesn't have him from wave 11 and really needs him?

I was a big airborne fan back in the day. From his look to his name, just too cool. I'd like to enter.

I am the biggest Airborne fan. Although, I didn't get the 12" though...but nevertheless, as a kid growing up, it was my favorite GI Joe. It went through so many tortures (the body stretch) which my Secret Wars Dr. Doom and MOTU Skeletor and Tri-clops would put him through.

loved him as a kid...he was the first joe that i remember had "unique" parts. his helmet had goggles....his backpack was pretty detailed...and he had a bayonet on his rifle!!
consider this a request of entry. he even got a "special" display last weekend! Last edited by Gung.Heaux; 12-16-2008 at 10:23 AM.. |

I have always loved Airborne. I have a sad story about him. I got him the first time I saw him when he came out in the 80's and I played with him all the time. I had one of those blow up swiming pools and I used to play with my joes in it. One day I got called in for diner I grabbed my Joe's and went inside. After diner my dad was cutting the grass so I started playing inside but, I could not find Airborne anywhere. I ran out to the pool and to my horror there was airborne. One of his legs had been sticking up and the lawn mower had chopped his foot off and put a few nicks in his face. I took a tooth pick and made a peg leg for him. I still played with him all of the time and he was still a bad ass.

I don't have an internet connection at home ( I know the horror) so I spend all day at work on the Tank! I'm in Cali so it's 2:40pm PST and I'm off at 5..I will draw the name before I leave and post who the winner is. So far I have Bizzaro Fett, KNDY, Gung Heaux and SLG...I will keep the drawing open until the last minute
