Just from a personal standpoint, I could do without a lot of what's out there right now. However, the quality of the figures themselves is just as good as their single pack counterparts. If your a MOC collector, I see the issue. But if you aren't, and do a bit of customizing or re-selling on the side, there's really no problem at all. |

Yeah, comic packs can be a pain for those collectors who prefer to keep them mint on cards. At least they don't charge full prices for 2 figures.

Awesome. But unfortunately too true. We have (I think) 17 versions of Cobra Commander now (by far the worst offender). |

I open and could care less how we get them....Comic pack, DVD pack, or a 3 pack....it doesnt matter to me....card art is spiffy and all but it goes right in a box.....Most of the comic packs havent been crazy Colors....some have been spot on right colors......
The only point I see in them remaining on cards is people think in 20 something years these are going to be worth $1000's.....this just isnt going to happen.......sorry I just cant feel for you on this......as long as we get fav joes I could care less if they came in a brown paper bag.......... |

The paint job on the new Gung Ho makes it worth it by itself, but I think you'll be surprised by "Cobra Commander" too. |

The thing I hate the most about the CPs is the repaints. Dollar per figure they're a great value, especially as they often come with great accesories. But I only need so many Duke, CCs, SSs, SEs and Destros. Especially when there are other sets loaded with repaints coming. Other than that I happy to get new packages to rip open.
In the ideal world you'd get the fig you wanted, with the accessories you want and be done with it. Unfortunately that's probably not the most profitable for toy makers. Fortunately like others have mentioned, there's ebay. I didn't want the whole weather dominator set. I didn't like Roadblock's sculpt to begin with, and I'm not getting a canary yellow version, And IG Destro is my default. So I got Lady Jaye and the set's accessories on Evilbay for about half the cost of the whole set (including shipping). I got an extra Ace the same way (as I got an extra Wild Weasle in the Rattler). I'll probably pick up Quick Kick the same way, as superior versions of Maj Bludd and Snake Eyes are available in other sets or are coming soon in other sets. If I had known Lady Jaye was getting retooled in the new 5 packs, I'd have passed on her and just got the weather dominator. I am learning patience, but its hard. |

Another ripper here.
Screw card art and MOC crap. I just don't want any more CCs or Storm Shadows or Destros or Dukes. I still don't have a Red Star or Tripwire because I so completely refuse to buy those damn CCs and Dukes. What I REALLY don't get are individual waves and troop builders sell like frickin' hot cakes, and comic packs and revisions clutter the shelves. So where do they push all the product? Comic packs and revisions! If Hasbro had any kind of brain whatsoever each and every wave would be 5 or 6 new figs and the other 2 or 3 would be BATs, EELs, Troopers, Divers, ParaVipers, and MORE TROOPERS. Comic packs need to go away. They'd make more money pushing only single cards at the $7.99 price than 2 at $9.99, and then there wouldn't be 200 Duke/Red Stars or CC/Tripwires on every shelf. We've gotten a lot of great stuff from this line, but you really have to wonder what they're thinking by short-changing troop builders and making buttloads of one-off characters like Wild Bill and jamming them in every revision.

First of all, who says the repainted singles will bomb? They seem to be doing brisk business, so far as I can tell. Secondly, I get the desire for single carded nostalgia-packs, but c'mon. We've gotten a complete embarassment of riches with this line. If it's really that important to you that you have all of the vintage era figures on vintage-styled cards, you should just enlist any one of the numerous custom carders on these boards to either create for you, or show you how to create, custom backers for your figures, then hock the pieces you don't need. |

Im just glad comic packs are here to stay-- They are a staple of the star wars line now-- and will become one in the marvel line-- and Im not seeing the argument- Give me 2 figures for 10.00 any day of the week (And since I have bought some of the packs just for the comic, its an even better deal). Personally I wish they put all new figures in the comic packs and then recard them exactly the same on the single cards. The only thing I would change is if you put an Army builder in- make sure the other figure is also an army builder.
There is a subtle push to get them to eliminate the single cards and just go with the comic pack style in the star wars line. And I would think in the Marvel line that would be the natural progression - and since they could at least share packaging tooling across all 3 lines then it would also kind of show a company style unity.
