If you are having trouble price matching at your local KOHLS this is from their company website frequently asked questions.
If I find the same item with a lower price at another store, will you match/beat the competitor's price? "Yes! We do match our competitors' prices. Just bring a copy of the competitor's ad/info with the current date on it to your nearest Kohl's Department Store. (Make sure the ad includes a description of the item.) This applies to in-store prices and products only, not to Kohls.com pricing or products." This is specified on their national website in the customer service link I have read a few posts where KOHLS is not following their own rules. If you're having problems with the price matching procedure. Copy and print this out to inform them of EXACTLY what they specify thru their OWN set of rules. Because the person/cashier you speak with may not even know they do this. KOHLS CANNOT refuse what they have set in their customer service rules. |

yeah..........but we still need an add with the current date on it from a competitor.
I dont think a receipt from another store would cut it. or would it? |

Take the temporary price cut sign off the peg for the joes at target that is what i have been using, it has the dates, the item number and name of item.
I didn't use a receipt, i used the in store sale peg hanger from the aisle in target. I took one and it is my proof. Works as well as an in-store flyer. |

If someone ever approached me about taking a little piece of paper off the pegs and asked me to "come with them" i wouldn't be going to jail for steeling, i would be going for the rain of blows i laid upon their body. Remember that scene in silence of the lambs where they were doing an autopsy on that girl and pulled a moth out of her mouth? well picture that but instead of a moth its a target price tag. Well according to Kohls' rules they don't have to price match, because Target doesn't advertise this sale, at least not a print ad. I don't if it's on the Target website or if that qualifies as an ad in the eyes of Kohls.
As for taking the Target price tags, I like saving money as much the next guy but it's not the right thing to do. Target uses these tags to let customers know what the price is, if people steal them how are they going to know how much an item costs? I know what so of you guys will say, "you can take the item over to one of the scanners". Well, not everyone knows that and Joe collectors already know the regular price but will only know about au unadvertised sale if they see it in the store. Face it, taking these tags can affect sales in two ways, first the unsuspecting customer doesn't know about sale so they pass on the purchase. Second, you are using Target's property to give the sale to a competitor. So, explain to us how that is the right thing to do? |
