I was reading the comments on the new pics for the Joe and Cobra 5 packs and I was suprised how many people were just "passing" on these. Well IMO the Cobra one I understand, to me the only good figure in there is the Chrome faced Viper and maybe the Baroness, but in regards to the Joe pack the SE is absolutely amazing. It is perfect as far as I'm concerned! It seems like so many people on here were saying how the DVD POD SE would be perfect if he was black...well that's what they did and I was shocked to see how many people still are gonna pass on this...just wanted to hear some thoughts on this! Not too mention the Flint isn't too bad either except maybe swap with the V1 head

I like both sets.. especially the fact that they changed the figures. the Cobra pack has a new head sculpt Baroness, chrome faced Viper, sleevless SS..all of these are perks to that set..
As for the joe set.. I think the only good figure in it is the SE. Or at least it's the only one that stands out as different. Yeah they made a normal Flint using the TF flint head and arms...big deal.. most of the other figures in that set are the exact same. boring...

I already preordered both of mine and I have to say both are great Sets. No matter what they say. Shipwreck, Snake Eyes, Lady Jaye and Flint all look indentical to the Cartoons. Love both sets.

My opinion is:
The Snake Eyes sculpt from the DVD pack and the new 5-pack is very cartoonish and a little odd. Something about it just isn't right. The head is weird looking, the smooth feet look odd, and the uneven proportions just make for a PASS figure for me. I still think the original wave 2 25th sculpt is superior and the 1985 Snake Eyes is still the best representation of that costume. The new Flint has a strange head, which as you said, can be swapped out. Also, his arms looked re-sculpted. |

Just went and looked at the pics again.. Shippy has a new head sculpt and right hand, Flint does look a bit odd.., LJ is the same as the DVD pack, Gen. Hawk is just a lighter colored version from Wv 8.. and the SE is a black version from the POD DVD. I do like the new sculpted animals though.
As for the cobra version... SS is sleevless like he should be.., Baroness has new head sculpt, CC is the same from the POD DVD with an added cape, Zartan..recolored version of wv11, Viper.. chrome face plate and fixed hands. <---big plus on that one.

Nah, the Snake Eyes is awesome. So is the Flint and Lady Jaye (LJ is 99% new sculpt, for those who didn't catch it). The Joe pack has 3/5 must-haves for me, the Cobra one only has the (again, 99% new sculpt) Baroness, and the Viper is cool too. I'll customize that Zartan, so he's not a total loss.
I really like the original Shipwreck, but my v1 may get the v2 hands and Polly to swap out from time to time. Also, the box set has the best Timber I've ever seen. I hate the first v1 Timber we've gotten like 4 of so far, none of whom match each other. That alone, with the black, makes this Snake Eyes the best one in the 25th line if you ask me. And I really dug the v2 Snake Eyes since it came out. |

Flint has new gear, head & arms & backpack.
Lady Jaye is almost all new except for the head. Snake Eyes is all black repaint with a backpack. Hawk is a repaint. Shipwreck looks mostly all new, even Polly. Baroness looks mostly all new. Storm Shadow has bare arms and is slightly repainted. CC is a throwaway. Zartan is a repaint, with "possible" color change vest. Viper has new hands and chrome. To me, these are great sets, and I can't wait for them to come out. |
