Well the story goes like this....I got 2 vintage vehicles for a really good price and ask the buyer for a total with combine shipping. A hour or so later i get an message saying that he listed the buy it now prices wrong (as they were the same as the shipping price) and now he wants more then double what i won each vehicle for. Now I understand things happen and people make mistakes as everyone is human but as a seller on ebay myself it clearly gives you time to change things on your auction and to look over them before listing.....should I force the guy to honor the prices or back out of the deal as I can't afford the prices he's wanting.

I agree with all the fellow Tankers! Do not give in and make him send it to you...I ate 40 Dollars one time for shipping to a buyer cause it was my fault!!! The history he has you are not the first person he has done that too!!! I would file a complaint if he drags this out any further it is illegal on ebay to change the price...I know i have a store on there too, I would not do that to anyone! He needs booted for being a peice of crap seller that makes other Good sellers look bad.
By the way if you read his listing he talks about Filing a complaint or leaving negative feedback if people dont pay it goes both ways in buying and selling. Last edited by sunicron; 11-13-2008 at 06:21 PM.. |

You may have to eat it. He does say, "Shipping is $13 UNLESS exact shipping costs are higher - bidder will pay actual shipping costs if above $20)I will gladly combine shipping costs , at the end of the auctions, if you bid on more than one item." (Quoted from both auctions.)
On second thought he ought to be planning ahead enough to figure out how much shipping should be for each vehicle individually. Not just throwing some number out there hoping (1) that it's close, and (2) no one calls him on his error.

ME GRIMLOCK, ME KING!!!!
Just kidding man, yeah i'm being cool about it. Here's what i told the guy in my message "I'm sorry man but i really want these and I looked at the times you listed and the times i purchased and they were up for auction for a good 10 minutes a piece which is plenty of time to fix any mistakes. I'm sorry if this causes a problem but this happened to me once and i had to take a loss for my own mistake." It's not your fault this seller is a dumbass!! |

did you read his item description?
"Shipping is X UNLESS exact shipping costs are higher - bidder will pay actual shipping costs if above X" WTF so its a bait and switch. He lists everything at a low price and then charges you more later on every single auction says the same thing "This vintage GI JOE Vehicle lot is in played with condition . I'm not an expert on this item , but it seems to be in very good shape and near complete .. It seems to have some very hard to find pieces that easily get lost " this guy is an ebay scum bag |

I think ebay will most likely side with you.
All they have to do is look at his Feedback report and see that he has done this before. I cant see ebay favoring this horrible seller over you. |

I won an auction for Blue and Black SDCC Cobra Commander when the con was still going on. The buy-it-now listing was for like $20 or $25, I think it was $30 after shipping. As soon as I paid he refunded my money and said it was an error on his part. He listed it 10 minutes later with a buyitnow of $200 and someone bought it. I guess in the haste of his greed he overlooked the price he had typed in the first time.
