Dragon Hawk II - weapon or refueling probe?

Ok, I know the instructions say that the long grey thing that attaches to the side of the Dragon Hawk II is a "weapon" (very generic to say the least).

However, it looks way more like a inflight refueling probe.

Do you think the instructions say "Weapon" to entertain the kids while looking like a inflight refueling probe for us geeks?

Anyway, what's your thoughts?

No idea...I thing is more of a sensors pod or somesuch for airspeed but I know very little on what its actual use is.

As a kid I would have said laser cannon.

Unless they thought it was going to be a spear....

Looks like a refueling probe to me.

My thoughts are that some douche in marketing thought that wouldn't sell to kids, though, so they called it a weapon.

i think its a refueling probe. only way the joes can make it to their drop zones .
I have my Ghost Hawk 2 repainted to modern colors

I'm planning on painting the orange missiles. Because those things aside, the coloring is OK. Not hugely lifelike, but not terrible.

I would say refueling probe......
