The first one that pops into my head is Tunnel Rat. His MO is that he's the guy that crawls into the tight spots to disarm explosives.
That being the case, why does he carry an M60? There's no way he can properly use that where he goes and with what he's supposed to do. And the backpack... That thing is the same size he is. It's huge. What's he got in there? I like the flashlights, that makes sense, but the rest of the backpack is just too damn big. He should have had a gun more like Hit & Run's. Something small that can pack a punch when needed. Give him a backpack like single-carded Fireflys. Something small and compact with the tools he would need, and still be able to attack the flashlights to it.

Well he would ditch this stuff to go in the tunnel and take a pistol and flashlight as well as a knife. Your right on the back pack it was huge and not needed at all. I like Muskrat but always felt the boogie board was not needed as well.

Nothing says Joes always have to carry what Hasbro give them. Maybe he likes big guns when he's not crawling around in tunnels.

Another one is Recoil. He's LRRP, what's he doing carrying a bomb suitecase? He wouldn't be setting bombs. And what's with that double rifle thing? Lose the suitcase, lose the double rifle and give him a radio backpack like Falcons and recolor the M-16 and he's good to go.

I don't know if the fact that Tunnel Rat is based on Larry Hama's appearance has anything to do with his armament, but if you read a lot of Larry's work, he seems to have a fascination with the M-60-and he tends to include a lot of detailed technical info about it when it appears in his stories (like the practice of attatching a c-ration can to the gun to make it feed better). I always saw that big SAW of T.R..'s as a tip of the cap to Larry. (Althoug it only sort-of looks like an M-60 from the reciever back. That giant barrel suggests an MG-34 and the night scope is definitely NOT typical for an LMG)
What I want to know is why so many 25th anniversary figures have World War Two weapons. Stalker has an MP-40, Rock and Roll got an MG-42...why are these elite troopers carrying surplus? |

there was nothing about the original figure that made a bow part of his character. the bow didn't become an aspect of his character until years later when it was revealed he killed the Hard Master in the comic, so there isn't anything weird about the original figure not coming with it. it's as arbitrary as saying it is weird he didn't come with an accounting calculator.
