This post will probably make some people mad, hopefully in a good way. I've been collecting 25th since wave 1. First joe anything I have bought since 1988. I was stunned/excited when I saw them on the pegs, out of the blue, for 5 bucks???!!!! Wow. Wish I had bought some more flints though, there were plenty around here. But anyway, I figured each wave would add the popular characters and then possibly move in a progression like it did in the 80's. You know, release the figures in the same order they did straight arms, swivel arms, etc. Somewhere along, (not sure when) I realized that was never going to happen. Hell, even wave 1 gave hints, but wave 2 proved it. Buzzer released before zartan, lady jaye before scarlett. Once I started seeing all these other crazy figures released before zap, grunt, rock and roll, I figured things were going to be grim. Hasbro would keep throwing a bone and teasing that things would get better, (great looking flash anyone?...) Now, I just don't know what the hell they are doing. Releasing comic and alternate figures when we don't even have the regular line up. Cobra is doing way better than joe though. Where is footloose, dusty, alpine, etc. I know they are doing multi packs and whatnot, but do we really need a wild bill on single card before say.. Mainframe? or Low light? I mean come on hasbro!!!! So, does anyone else feel this way?

No, i don't feel that way. I don't care how they bring the joes out, as long as the line stays heathy and strong as it has been. I'm impressed with all the great stuff we're getting, and overjoyed to be a collector!

1) Be patient. Good things come in due time.
1b) It's better to get the popular (and new) characters out first before continuing. 2) Bad economic times. 2b) Chinese companies making Hasbro toys had been sucking as of late and skipping out on quality. 2c) Best be prepared to pay $10 for a 3.75" figure.

does anyone ever thank Hasbro for releasing these figures? its always a complaint about a weird arm, a repaint, a repack, or bad distribution.
the only thing im not happy with in the line is the fluctuating prices Last edited by HissCommander; 10-31-2008 at 12:32 PM.. |

Umm. Yes?
Be patient. In your opinion what were the crazy figures that came out before Zap and Rock and Roll. I have been collecting Star Wars figures since 1995. I am still waiting for a bunch of figures for nearly 13 years.... |

Tyrenol, I agree and disagree and will take them point by point.
1) Be patient. Good things come in due time. (Not if line gets cancelled) 1b) It's better to get the popular (and new) characters out first before continuing. (true, but how many snake eyes do we really need. How popular is say... Dr. mindbender? Hmm....) 2) Bad economic times. (true, but hasbro has raised the prices 3 times in 1 year) 2b) Chinese companies making Hasbro toys had been sucking as of late and skipping out on quality. (I have no knowledge on this) 2c) Best be prepared to pay $10 for a 3.75" figure. (I won't do it, count me a joe collector no more if/when that happens.) |

I hate to break this to you, but every Joe character is part of the line up, so it doesn't matter what order the characters are released.
I think the idea of releasing the characters in identical order as they did in the 80's is more ridiculous than Hasbro releasing Serpentor before Zap. honestly, that is just a ridiculous expectation. not only that, but the comic packs and DVD sets are all part of the line up and are avenues to release characters. the single packs may be the main focus, but they aren't the only part of the main line up. the idea that every character has to be released first on a single pack is ludicrous. if that were the case, what would be the point of the other sets? repaints? yeah, that would be a successful product. |

Actually I am(make that was) thankful for them bringing them back. I never even looked at valor vs. venom or sigma 6. I used to just sit and stare at my 25ths hanging on the wall(I'm an OTC collector). It was like being a kid again. But lets be honest, things have changed alot since 2007. Not to count prices going from 4.44 up to 7+ but the rollercoaster of orders not being filled, delays, really desired product being store/internet exclusive it's getting to be quite trying to be a joe collector.
