Its also and this might sound strange and all but it was a Celebration of (And this is the one that will get you) 25 years of GI Joe.....that means Figs from 82-07........
AND they never ever said they were going to release them in the order they came out.....thats just wishful thinking... "Figs" its not just 25 years of Figures hasbro is celebrating, it is 25 years of GIJOE. thats comics, cartoons, figures, movie. Everything from the past 25 years. I agree with what Troynos said. When we get figures like Wraith, being a comic fan, there is my one figure of the wave. When they make foriegn figures like Ninja Ku, being a ninja fan and koing full well that is one figure I would never be able to afford vintage, there is my one figure of the wave Hasbro knows what they are doing, they are trying to play to the greatest number of fans all at once, not just one group that like the original 13. To tell you the truth, up until I looked at yo joe I couldnt tell you exactly who all 13 were. |

I'm with you Commander. I love this line, unabashedly, and have no complaints. And I think Hasbro is awesome for putting this line together and supporting us fans.

...I don't think you need to worry about this line getting cancelled. The line is about a year and a half old. We've gotten around a billion figures so far with more in the plans. It's leading up to a Movie release next year. After that we will get more classics. Take a breather. If this were the original release in 82 we'd have barely even seen the second series yet with Snow Job etc...

Everybody here wants to see GI Joe back in it's full glory, and that is going to be hard without a mainstream connection to the youth(cartoon on a major network) otherwise it will reamin something for us collectors only(which I am fine with)

June of 2007-November 2008.
In not even 18 months we have seen 60 single carded, unique figures. It took 3 years to get 51 single carded, unique figures during the original run, That is discounting the straight arms of 1982. I think Hasbro has gone above and beyond for the Modern Era Joe line. A few hiccups in articulation aside, We have gotten some amazing collectibles. 100% of these won't be winners, because you can't please 100% of the collector market 100% of the time. And How boring would this hobby be if we knew exactly what was coming, and in what order. Anticipation of seeing the next great Joe thing has taken the place of the Joy in building my Joe vehicles. I have to agree with most of you. I'll take them however Hasbro will give them. Wow, I feel like a whore saying it that way, but it's true. Sure it would be nice to have more popular figures get the single card treatment, but Hasbro has to do what they have to do to keep the line going. As for quality control....I haven't had too many issues with the quality of the Joe line. My biggest gripe would be the stickers don't stick to the vehicles. That really pisses me off.

the line started with 1 Joe and Cobra boxset each. the Joe boxset contained 2 figures from 82, 2 from 83 and 1 from 84 -- hardly Hasbro intending to go in original order. the Cobra boxset is very similar. the first single pack of figures had 1 figure from 82, 2 from 85, 1 from 88, and another from 84 that had never been single carded before -- how you could take that set of figures and believe or hope that Hasbro was releasing figures or should release figures in the order identical to their original release is just ludicrous. they jumped all the way to 1988 in the very first wave of figures, for crying out loud! if you are disappointed in that, you only have yourself to blame for creating in your mind an expectation that was never even hinted at by the releases of teh actual product. that is hardly Hasbro's fault. Hifi- its the form oils they use on the molds... If you gently wash the form oil off the vehicle and let it dry completely the stickers will stick just fine...
