People are already "pre-ordering" the SDCC Destro set on eBay. The lowest price I saw was $119. Thisis why the average collector can never find exclusives or vatiants.

They'll all feel really dumb when Hasbrotoyshop.com has them for $24.99 or whatever they plan to sell them for. Then the scalpers will buy HTS out and sell them for $119.00 all over again.

I am so sick of all the really cool items being Convention exclusives. They should change SDCC's name to San Diego Scalpers convention!!

Not all the really cool items are exclusives. You looked at your Joe collection lately? Tell me they're not all awesome.

You need to ask yourself who are you blaming..
Hasbro for making exclusive figures as a bonus for showing up at conventions? Or Evilbay Scalpers for driving up the price? Hasbro isn't in the market to make evilbayers money, they care about themselves and to an extend their distributors and retailers.

Hopefully HTS will someday enforce the limits they impose on orders or rather, multiple orders though. You know, to spread out the wealth a little better and keep folks from placing 20 separate orders. Nothing says angry mob better than a hold up at step five followed by, "Hey folks, I got my 35 orders placed. You can pick them up for a 250% markup starting tomorrow." |

Ah, Dawg, I'd put in a second order for you if it didn't contradict my last post. [For a small finders fee mark-up, of course...] It does suck about the whole crossing borders thing. I felt a little of the sting finally myself. TRU.com.ca has a mess of MARS 3 packs up there taunting me.
