How about a "in-disguise" series where each box set concentrates on a character disguised as other joes or cobras. They could use all the same body parts and just use the same head throughout. Like Flint in Cobra Disguises could be flints head on 10 different cobra figures in a box! Of course I'm kidding, but Hasbro will probably do this type of thing soon. I just hope it doesn't get as crappy as all no name star wars figures.

A box of para-trooper Joes would be cool. Except would have to do something else besides slap some jump gear on 'em.
Night Force Para-Troopers? I would love a Scarlet in night force colors, throw some jump gear on her and that figure would rock.

By definition yes, however if your collecting childrens toys, you should probably be willing to use the proper terminology, that way people can understand what your talking about.

Regardless, you're the only one who's had a problem with what term he actually used. Seems everyone else understands absolutely fine. |

I would like to see a box set of joes that are portrayed in an ultra realistic fashion. Joe characters looking like members of today's military in digital camo gear with backpacks and satchels, etc. Something very short term, maybe an online exclusive. Nothing too broad, just very realistic with a joe twist.

Is this argument still going on? Being an ex English teacher I respect words, as Capt Steven does, but version and variation are synonymous. In fact one is used to define the other. Black timber is a variation of the gray timber and it's also a new, black version of timber.
I understand that minor changes like a yellow Stalker or Shipwreck with different tatoo are termed "variants" on this site, but I didn't ask something like, "What variants of Flint would you like to see? One with gloves? Sunglasses? Pink beret?" No, I said what variations of your favorite characters would you like to see and then gave clear examples of what I meant. Different uniforms, different gear, etc. Where's the confusion? If you want to split hairs I could argue that "variant" is actually imprecise and confusing because it simply means a person or thing that varies. Well, in that case every other Snake-Eyes is a variant of the original. Arctic Snake-Eyes varies from the first Snake-Eyes ever made so he's a variant, and so on. I also suppose I could correct people's grammar and punctuation and spelling on this site but what would that accomplish, besides making me look like a dick. I can usually understand what's being said when I read misspelled, ungrammatical posts, and if I don't, then I'll ask what the person was trying to say. |
