Ok Hasbro says that they need to do repaints and reuse the same molds....over and over and over and over...well you know what I mean here......to turn a profit. That Same molds and repaints help them make new molds. Some of you say this line isnt making them a ton of money to make new molds every wave.....or even 2 new molds every wave.
.....Joe Vs Cobra.....Spy Troops....Venom Vs Valor....all the characters had there own mold....meaning a new mold for each Character....if you saw Dukes mold again it was for a repainted Duke....SEs mold was for a repainted SE.....Etc...Ect.... Why does the 25th line reuse mold after mold after mold for different Characters (Leatherneck=Buzzer) when this line sells more than those lines.....and those lines didnt have a cartoon or a movie coming up..... Can someone explain this to me???? |

I've wondered about that too.
Instead of frankensteining some parts to repaint a Duke, why didn't Hasbro just frankenstein some parts they already had to make an Airtight, Law&Order, Footloose, Dial-Tone and Wet-Suit. All it will take would be some creative imagination and some paint... Sab |

I know exactly which Wet-Suit you are talking about.
It was awesome! Look, Hasbro needs to make a profit and keep costs down. Okay. Fans, collectors (and kids?) want more characters. Okay. Hasbro repaints Duke 20 times, Snake Eyes 50 times and Storm Shadow 30 times. The same effort, money, paint and imagination could be put into making other joes. I mean they already have enough parts to do the remaining big names in the brand. Hasbro will kill two birds with one stone: Keep costs down AND make a profit. And fans will be happy. That's what it's all about isn't it? Repaint Duke, Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander and very few are happy. Frankenstein and paint those that I mention, plus dozens more and fans are happy. At the same time, Hasbro has made a good profit and continue to do bigger and better things. Sab |

I love the customs people are doing. I want to buy some of them. Does anybody know of a good website to buy customs? Thanks!

I think it's something along the lines that figures were cheaper to make when JvsC, Spytroops, and VvsV, were released, plus during that time it was thought these "new" 3 3/4 Joe's were gonna be a hit. There was 3 cartoon dvd's to push those lines, so retailers ordered lots and lots of product and when those lines failed, retailers had a bunch of Joe product they couldn't get rid of. 25th Joe's comes and again, Hasbro thinks this will be the next big thing, but retailers aren't so sure and wasn't ordering as much, for fear of getting burned like they did on the other 3 3/4 lines.

Not right off I don't.
You may have to ask a particular individual if they're interested in selling or just check E-bay. If you don't mind painting and customizing, check Broken Arrow toys for some good molds. Sab |

Wasn't it because the other lines tanked and Hasbro didn't want to spend the money on another GI Joe line that could've potentially tanked aswell?
Instead opting to use molds that could be reused to make many different characters and keeping the costs down The same reason for the continued repainted molds could also be used to include the upcoming Movie Line. We all know Hasbro's focus is going towards the movie line so they are keeping the costs down leading to the phasing out of the 25th line I do agree that they should've used the existing molds to frankenstein other characters that would've worked better |
