It takes 2 years to plan product.
In just 1 or 2 years, we celebrate Joe's golden own 50th Anniversary. In direct connection to this, the wise decision to include Classic Joe (Colton) in the sequel, shows a great deal of promise. Indeed Bruce Willis (classic Joe) and http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ing-yahoo.html and Twitter alike. This is a very promising sign. It shows interest (in the overall brand) in what was and still is - G.I. Joe. Keeping in mind this impressive half-century of Joe (as a whole) what would you like to see happen for G.I. Joe's golden 50th anniversary? Last edited by Tuskegee Joe; 04-26-2012 at 12:51 PM.. |

For me, I really appreciated what Hasbro did in the original 30th (1994) by releasing the Classic 12" figs in 3.75" format. Yet the delivery was wrong. The 3.75" figs, being boxed, made them a bit more expensive + difficult to buy. If only they kept away from the mini-vehicles / missile launchers; they could've been kept basic + carded. This enables the figures to be cheaper, sell better. In fact, a majority of these Classics in 3.75" format, could've / should've been army-builders. Also, all these Classics can be re-made with its many past different heads / skin complexions, too. Schedule such potential army-builders in the earlier waves to help sell more quickly...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is what should have been done for the new 12" line they rolled out last year. 4" Police, Miliary, Firefighter, etc. However, those hardcore 12" stock holders pushed to bring back a line that just can't survive at regular retail anymore. It probably put another nail in the coffin of convincing them to take the original releases that started the line and re-release them in the new 4" format for the anniversary. :(

I was hoping to grab the 12" firefighter on clearance for my daughter's Barbies but they haven't dropped yet and now all I see is the Paratrooper. |

The 12" GI Joes released in 2011 may have been to fulfill a retailer request and not just Hasbro's idea. I think the 12" figures make good gifts for kids and that's what stores like Target were aiming for.

1/18th scale figures of realistic service men, women, and vehicles.
Make it a companion line to GIJoe. Pretty much the same type of thing they do for 6th scale figs except for small. Delta Soldier, Diplomatic Secret Service Specialist, 82nd Airborne, MOPP Marine, and maybe a few past era figures (WWII) etc. This idea has been proposed many times. If it's going to work, best try it close to movie time. Edit: That was weird. I couldn't see any other posts for a sec. But it looks like we all want the same thing.
