Yep; that's right. Screw the hunt. I search almost daily and come up empty-handed. I have a short list of a few things I want, and I just want the list fulfilled. All the places I stop at are on my way home from work, but it still takes gas and time to stop. It takes about an hour from the time I leave work until I get home to stop everywhere. I try to play it smart -- I only stop at Target on M/W/F b/c that's when they get their trucks. But I just get tired of going into the stores and seeing that same old, day in and day out. No wave 10 at all in our area; I agree with those who have postulated that the revision cases and the internet sales are holding up it's widespread release in retail.
So, on the advice of some of you here on the tank, I decided to order some stuff off the net. I might pay just a little more, but at least I know I'm getting it and I don't have to stop by Wal-Mart everyday on the way to work (I wonder if those people will miss me). I can sleep in a little bit and I might even save some money on gas.

That is what I am doing Firefly. Got wave 10 a few weeks ago should have 11 and 12 by next week. I pay $7 and change per fig but I pay no tax and I save gas and TIME!

I made this decision a while back. For me, it took a while to break the hunting urge (it's an addiction), but now I think I'm almost over it. I still look once in a while but everything lately has been ordered online with the exception of the Rattler and Conquest. And I'm all caught up! Wave 11 should be getting to BBTS shortly, and I have the wave 6 comic packs on their way from the gijoe club.

Makes more sense. And BBTS allows you to store your haul in a Pile'o'Loot for delayed shipping in order to save. I'd rather pay a small shipping fee as opposed to the gas it takes driving all over creation to only end up empty handed. 1/4 tank of gas is more money than BBTS shipping.

I started a bit on the GIJCC after I joined, figured I'd use the $42 membership. Its cheaper than BBTS and EE and I get my figures faster than through either. I'd order things here and there, but now I'm almost exclusively purchasing online. Wv 2/3 vehicles, wave 10, a few wv 11 figs (I'm sure I'll be able to find plenty of Scarletts at retail...). I leave the DVD and CPs to retail, cuz Target has a million of each right now. It used to drive me crazy hunting all over town, wondering if I missed something I won't be able to find ever again.

smart choice man. show hasbro that we dont like Target or Walmart and are sick of their crap!
Help out the online business! Im suprised by the stingyness of people. They would rather waste their time and gas to save 2 bucks on a figure? And thats if they find it! REMEMBER: YOU STILL GET CHARGED WITH PILE OF LOOT ON. People forget that. |

man i made that decision when wave 6 came out. I have never found a complete wave in the stores except for wave 9 once. Its too much work driving around hunting and wasting gas trying get that before the fat ebay guy does. Its really not even fun anymore. The thrill is gone, the fun is gone, and the enjoyment is gone. I will pay the extra $12 a wave and have some nice man drive it to my house an walk to it my door with a smile. Then pop open a diet coke and open my figures. It doesnt get much better than that

I gave up on stores about 3 weeks ago. Got Wave 10 from BBTS, New DVD Packs, Vehicles and new Transformers from HTS. Without taxes and with the 20% off at HTS, even including shipping I've saved about $18. Compound that with the gas saved and I've got stuff weeks (or months, with how Wave 10 is looking) in advance and saved a fortune. Wal-Mart, Target and TRU can kiss my shiny metal daffodil.

I'm at that same decision. The selection at the local stores here in good ol' NH is dreadful, so the net is the way to go.
