After going to a few Wal-marts a few different times hoping to see Wave 5 Revision 5 finally hit so I can finally get a Wave 1 Flint for under ten bucks but always finding crap instead I am always ready to declare, "Screw It. I am officially giving up G.I. Joe hunting forever!!!"
But then I go to sleep and when I awake I forget and go back to Wal-mart. LOL. |

I got most of my collection from retail as well, but lately I've been buying from BBTS and HTS. I'm also getting tired of failed attemps. Sure I enjoy the hunt, but too many failures has it's toll. It is nice not to rush from store to store anymore. Boy times are changing.

Its quite a challenge and competive among various type of buyers from scalpers to casual collectors, from hard-core collectors to the army builders.
I see a disturbance with the absence of wave 10! And I'm disturbed!! |

Couple that with the fact that a LOT of stores maybe get *1* new case every few weeks, and the scalper paranoia begins. This crap has been all about poor supply/distribution. And the irony of it all is that just now hasbro is getting product out, but it's all the revison wave crap!!! Just imagine if everytime you saw a revision wave lately it had been a case of wv 10 or 11? |

Update: I have gotten every fig from wave 10 & 11 that I want, plus the wave 6 cp that I want, and all have been online. I have fallen off the wagon just once and stopped when I didn't need to at Kmart. I have looked at wm and target when I have to go there, but that's not really hunting if I have to be there already. I have saved gas and time. I think I'm just going to keep doing it this way. Seems to be a bit less stressful.

I'm also buying from BBTS.com as they have stuff in stock and my Walmart doesn't. Also I find the price to be fair.

I mean I am just wondering how in comparison BBTS or EE compares to what Wal-Mart buys in Joes. Is it even close? I still love to hunt though...

I kind of said "screw it" myself...but in a different way. I've put a major halt on my collecting of 25th figures and vehicles. I have now strictly limited myself to just 25th versions of stuff that was produced between 1982-1990. I don't care how cool Wraith, Matt Trakker or the new movie figures may be....I have to pass. No more hunting....no more walking away empty handed. I wan't the "classic" stuff and that's it.
It's less stressful only looking for certain items. If I find it cool.... If not I know I'll eventually stumble on it. |
