I have all of them except for the SRO wave 2 and i don't really think they are all that. Most of them are repaints and figures we have already seen anyway...

Watch for circulars in the paper or online for sales to make it worth your while. Sometimes they have buy 2 get 1 free kind of things for other lines, and I'm sure GI Joe will be the focus soon with the movie on the horizon. From what I've seen the exclusives are in no danger of selling out soon so you have time to wait for a sale that will benefit you. personally I HATE going in TRU, I always leave disappointed.
Grunt isn't that great of a figure, if you've held out this long I would either try to trade for one or wait to see if he gets released in a later wave. I am more excited about the wave 2 SRO packs myself. They have been having 20% coupons in their ads lately for teachers one time, "Heroes - police, fire, military", etc. I got my Crimson 5 pack for $20

since you aren't an army builder, you can safely skip the TRU 5 packs. The wave one officer packs arent great, and if you only want cool figures and aren't too hung up comic/cartoon accurate colors, the wave 2 officer packs are a good deal (assuming you don't already have a version of wild bill, ace, etc). i also personally went for the IG pack as opposed to the comic pack since I figured if I'm going to get a destro i dont want either way, I might as well get two IGs for a few dollars more and not buy the comic pack at all

As a lot of you know, I own a business (CTGLinks), but I am also a collector of many lines (Star Wars, GI Joe, Marvel, & Indiana Jones all Hasbro lines) All of these lines are putting stuff out constantly.
Here's my question...Why would Hasbro put out so much product that most of us simply can not afford? We are in the middel of a recession and more product is coming out now than ever and at more expensive prices. Are they forcing us to be selective customers or do they want us to buy it all? I do not get it. What are your thoughts? |

the sro crimson guards were great, and the cobra trooper officer were ok, i ditched my cobra commander to the closet from both sets but for 14.00 nice 3 packs. the others eh, maybe the starduster set just for starduster and maybe helmets on ace n wild bill that make sense. the 5 packs, ive not bought a one, if a blue trooper pack comes out i will cause im tired of all these mismatched blue suiters. and imo, the nightwatch set sucked i mean wtf was with that cammo?

I've bought everything released so far at retail. And I like all the TRU exclusives. Most, if not all store exclusives are just repaints/kitbashes and for that, they look cool for what they are.

I initially bought the first TRU 5 pack exclusives and SRO sets. After that, I've been more selective. I have not purchased the greenshirt nor the CG sets, and I doubt I ever will. Of the new SRO sets, I bought the air command (mostly for Sky/Starduster) and IG (for the IG trooper and officer) figures. If I hadn't already made a custom cutter, I might have picked that one up as well.
