Hey guys! I got a late start on the RAH Modern line, but I'm very excited about it. I was lucky enough to find a GI Joe 25th anniversary 5 figure set tonight at K-Mart so I scooped it up. Since I'm new to collecting, I was hoping you guys could fill me in on what I've missed. Specifically, what figures came out in each wave and approximately when were these waves released? I'd also be interested to know which figures are the hardest to find from each wave. I know of sites like YoJoe.com, and I have seen some of the new figures, but I'm more interested in when these figures came out so I can gauge my chances of still finding them somewhere on a peg. I'd like to know which ones were harder to find so that I might be able to get trade bait to obtain the figures I'm most interested in.
Thanks in advance! |

That is a great resource to get started, and the dates are fairly spot on (some areas got stuff earlier or later depending on distribution from retailers). In general, if you care about them, the variants will be the hardest to get, and IMO, not worth the effort, except maybe the clear Wraith variant (which is just now shipping). For the most part, every figure is still currently shipping or has a new version (often better) available or coming. Pretty much everything from wave 5 (wave 1 08) onward should be relatively easy to get, especially with the many case revisions shipping to retailers. The only single figures NOT reshipping in the near future are: Zartan (in his recent comic attire, but he is due in the next assortment in his classic look) Shipwreck Hooded Cobra Commander (however, a new version is shipping with the newest DVD packs) Lady Jaye (new version is shipping with the DVd packs) Cobra Air Trooper (still readily available in the Cobra Legions boxset) Cobra Trooper or Officer in their 2007 paint decos (both are receiving numerous repaints in the next several months through several venues)

wow you came in late to the joe collecting game, and you got alot of ketching up to do. im sure lots of people will point you in the right direction for getting what you want. hardest figs to get right now are the black headed destro comic pack with iron grenaider which is a varient to the gold headed destro and the clear varient wraith. those are the only 2 i can think of that you can actually have a chance of finding in stores as of right now.
the first hard to find varients where snake eyes with black timber and the yellow stalker which wasnt actually a varient it was a mishap on hasbros part to the best of my knowledge. but these 4 figures are worth some loot with the yellow stalker being the most valuable of them all. then you got your comic con exclusives like gold headed pimp daddy destro and silver headed pimp daddydestro along with roddy piper. which you could only buy at comic con of 2007 and now you will only get from other collectors and on ebay. then this year for 2008 the cobra commander on a podium was released, the blue and black. both the same figure just his suit was either blue or black with the blue one being worth more money. again you could only buy these at comic con or hasbro toy shop right after they came out for like a brief ten minutes. that should help you out with the more expensive part in the new series. these are all the figures that are worth money and are hard to get. if i missed anything someone fill in the gap. im not even trying to tell you how many joes they have made so far because its alot, lol but im pretty sure yojoe.com has them listed in waves so you can see what has come out from vehicles to comic packs and all that good stuff. anyway good luck to you and welcome to the tank.

Good news, EVERYONE in the line is relatively easy to get. Especially right now. Only rare variants are hard and not really worth it.
Flint is still probably the hardest to find, Tiger Force Flint is easy to find though... And a new Flint will be released soon. Rest easy my friend, everyone is relatgively easy to get. However there are a TON of guys to be gotten. |

the reissues are easier to get im sure! dude go on ebay try there, or if you need a guy make a list in your signiture, you'll see as people post they will have a list of wants an haves. make one of them an im sure someone will sell you a extra! first make a list of who there is an who to still get. thats what i did, boy in the beginnin i was like no way am i gettin all these. then i was introduced to ebay an i found what i needed! an when things are rare they will go for more. you'll catch on man! it sucks startin this late though! you missed alot of crap!
