How strange I just noticed on the arms and legs they are numbered. Does everyone have these or did I just a strange bunch? R2 L2 and such.
I have to say I'm disappointed that there isn't a better way to organize production parts. |

It's possible R2 and L2 are used for left and right but w/o seeing it's hard to say. Numbers and/or letters are used in production molds to identify cavities. Molds often times have multiple cavities so that when they mold inject you pull several parts at once. The markings are there so that if a part shows up faulty they can tell what cavity needs repairs.
EIDT - I should also mention that cavity ID numbers, much like sprue connection points, are usually in hidden places like on the joint that is inside the torso. It's a shame they marked these in a viewable place. Seems like a poor engineering move. 201 Last edited by Tripwire201; 11-07-2007 at 11:10 PM.. |
